I Love the Way You......

Hello Friends!  If you still get my feed.  I know I haven't been around very much as of late. Life seems to have taken over and changed directions on me.  Not in a bad way, I've just not been making many cards lately.  I have tons of ideas that never seem to come together.  The card above is one I did just make for my husband to celebrate the day that he asked me to marry him 19 years ago.  :)  Love him still!  I used a digi that I'd stashed away in my printed out file.  I believe it's from Clear Dollar Stamps.  Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I've been spending lots of time with my kids and also making some things from scratch just for fun. :) Below is some homemade cough candies. The kids love them which is good since we've had some coughing going on this winter.  Here's a link to the youtube tutorial if you want to try it yourself.  HERE!

I put lots of icing sugar on them so they didn't stick together.  Mine didn't turn out very pretty, but they still work great!

Some more butter making going on.  I took a pic of the finished product today just to show how much butter I get from one litre/quart of whipping cream.  The leftover buttermilk is delicious in biscuits.  How I'd love to have a cow of my own so that I could make fresh butter more often!  And cheese...I'd love to learn how to do that!  But for now I am thankful the Lord has provided what he has for us.

I've been also taking more time to look at the world around me.  This past week I was out waiting for my smokies to cook on the BBQ...yes you heard that right it was actually warm enough to BBQ this past week.  We even made it up to 13C which is 55.5F.  Anyhow, below is what I seen up in the sky and thought it was worthy of a picture.  God is so good and I'm surrounded by his creation.  As of late with all the warmth, the squirrels have emerged en mass! Wow, I just can't believe how many there are and how energetic to!  We've been watching them chasing each other around the property from morning till night. LOL  Quite the distraction when there's other things to be done.

Thanks for dropping by and letting me share a bit of my life with you.
Praying you have a beautiful day!

I don't actually do Valentine's Day, but I love to send I love you cards all year long.  On the 11th, is the day that my husband and I remember the anniversary to our engagement.  So this year is going to be 18 years since he put a ring on my finger.
I had so much fun playing in my craft room....hoping to do more of it.  Would love to make another set with these delightful papers!  So here they are.

I am sharing them at Word Art Wednesday.  Pop over there for some wonderful inspiration and encouragement! Plus free word art!

For my card I've coloured up this sweet kitty with my pencil crayons and then popped it up over a die cut doily and sweet papers by Dear Lizzy. The card from the Dear Lizzy set and I added the Studio G sentiment (which I added some extra inking to).  Then for a finishing touch I added the pearls.

I'm entering this card in the From the Heart Stamps challenge and sharing with Word Art Wednesday.

For Love

There are many who chose to show their love at this time of the year on a special day.  Today it's all about Valentines at Card Crafter's Circle and we'd love for you to share with us your cards!

For my card I've used an image from our sponsor Floppy Latte called Country Hearts. I've coloured it with my red fiscars marker and added some decoart glitter to the circles in the middle heart.  I've made this card quite CAS with just some matted layers and edged with a pair of decorative scissors.  For the inside, I've added my sentiment and it's from Indira Tanwar at Arty Sorts.

I have made a second card, this one using a sweet image by our other wonderful sponsor - Robyn's Fetish called Kitty Cat Luv.
I have coloured it with my pencil crayons, fussy cut it out and layered it over some great love papers by Recollections.  I have added some variegated string and a sentiment by Studio g that I cut into a tag shape.

For the inside I added a touch of the same paper with a heartbeat scissor cut above.  Then the inside sentiment is Tina Wenke clear stamp.

Now it's your turn! We'd love to see your special cards at the Card Crafter's Circle challenge! If you need more inspiration, the ladies over there have tons for you!  Plus, there are some wonderful prizes to be had!
Have a wonderful day! Thank you for popping by!

I Love You CAS!

Hello, today I have a card I'd love to share with you that I've created for the challenge over at CAS on Sundays.  It's a new challenge blog that I've discovered via a fellow blogging friend (Vicki from Stamp Smiles) and thought I'd give it a go. I'm not too good at CAS cards, but do find them wonderful.  So here is my attempt as CAS card this week.  The challenge is Be Mine Valentine and you can come join in the fun HERE!
I used some textured cardstock for my base and then added some words that came with a K & Company paper pack I had.  Then I added some hearts that I cut out by hand (with paper from the same paper pac) and then sewed onto the card.  So I guess this counts as CAS.  I did do the inside a touch by adding some matching paper and sewed a couple hearts on it as well.

Thanks so much for dropping by! Have a wonderful day and don't forget to tell those you love that you love them....added hugs are always a bonus!

Loveth at All TImes

Hello Friends, today I'd like to share with you some Love!  It's the Valentine blog hop from Delightful Inspiration From the Heart.  We'd love for you to join us!
For my card I've used this sweet image Smiling Owls found HERE at From the Heart Stamps. I've coloured them up with pencil crayons and layered them over some corrigated cardboard and papers from my stash.  With a touch of ribbon and rhinestones and the sentiment that comes with the image it's finished.
One must remember that friends are some of the most wonderful gifts we have.  For me, my very best friend here on earth is my husband.  The man who loves me for me.  We don't do Valentine's Day in our home, but on the 11th of February is the anniversary of the day my husband asked me to marry him.  That's our special LOVE day.  Plus I do my very best to make sure I give tons of lovin' to all my children, family and friends.
Have you hugged someone today?

You Lead - IFALO

This is a card that I've created for the fun challenge over at Card Crafter's Circle - To die for using die cuts (machine or handcut).  I had the opportunity to use Limited Runs - car image! Since it was my "engagement anniversary" this past weekend I made this for my husband who asked me to marry him 16 years ago on the 11th.  I'm a firm believer that the man leads and the woman follows so I thought I'd just remind my husband that I'm still following.
For this card I coloured and cut out this fun little car and used crystal laquer to create a shine for the window and the tail lights.  I matted this to some textured cardstock matching the card base.  I layered this over a map that I cut from some patterned paper I got at the dollar store and added some distress ink (Tim Holtz - old paper) and crinkled the paper up a bit. Since that is what maps usually go through!  I cut it out with a frame template from Lily of the Valley and added it to the layers of patterned paper from Forever in Time.  For my die cuts I used a Spellbinders scalloped oval die in two sizes for the sentiment.  I then added the rest IFALO to the licence plate on the car.  It still needed some thing else so I added some great screw brads from Forever in Time!
It's fun to play with dies, there is such a huge variety out there so pull them out and come join us at the Card Crafter's Circle this week! Limited Runs is offering up a wonderful prize of three digis!

Love is in the Air

With all the "Love" going on this month, I thought that this wonderful set from Clear Dollar Stamps was perfect.  I just love these tweet birdies and the sentiment from the Love Tweet Love set.  I've paired it with some lovely papers that you can also find at Clear Dollar Stamps from their Static Dreams set.  I added this wonderful lace ribbon and satin white ribbon that I had in my collection.  Something simple to hopefully bring some smiles.
I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
For Fun- Put a little love in your heart.
Simon Says- Love is in the air
Scrapbook Sisters- Anything Goes

Love is Sweet

Today I have another post for you, this one is for MelJen's challenge - Loving You.  This is such a sweet bear and I wanted to make this card so that I'd have one on hand to give a friend to let them know I care about them.  I always like to have some of these on hand!
For this card, I printed out the image and coloured it with my pencil crayons, then inked around the edges.  I layered it on some Stampin' Up cardstock and distressed the edges a bit.  This panel is popped up over a couple different layers of matted papers from Stampin' Up also.  The ribbon was a gift, and the red rhinestones are from Forever in Time.  I thought they added a nice touch.  I actually added a sentiment to the inside of this card -which I often do not do.  It's from TLC and I thought it paired really well with this image.
In the bottom corner I added a heart by Fiskars with some Colorbox ink.
I'm also entering this card in Stampin' Sisters in Christ's - Create something with Love in it challenge.
Thank you for coming by, have a wonderful day!

Love Is In The Air

Over at MelJen's Challenge Blog, it's all about Hearts and Love! So I couldn't help but join in!  I am using MelJen's love birds and the sentiment is computer generated.  I used my new die set from Spellbinders to frame the image and layered it on some amazing digital DP from Clear Dollar Stamps PatchPal Lamb set that you can find HERE! The ribbon was another great find at a local taylor's shop and to finish it off, I cornered it with some blue rhinestones.
Thanks so much for stopping by! I know that I've posted a lot today, do scroll down to see what else I've been up to.  Hugs!

Pastel Pig

Do any of you love pigs? My niece does, and this is for her!  There is a challenge going on over at Clearly I Stamp and it's all pastels!   It's a two week challenge so there is tons of time to link up! For all the details head on over Here!
For this card I used a digi stamp -the pig and sentiment from the Loving Critters set. You can find this and lots more over at Clear Dollar Stamps!  I layered it on some lovely pink cardstock and light pink paper, then distressed the edges a little.  I stamped a little heart border with my Fiskars heart clear stamp and wrapped a lovely pink sheer ribbon overtop.  I added a couple tabs of toule to the corner and some lovely clear rhinestones to finish it off.
I am also entering this card in Stampin' Sisters in Christ's challenge- Make a heart stand out on your card/project.
Thank you very much for taking the time to stop by!
