Cozy Winter Racoon

Hello Friends! Today I have a frosty card to share with you that I've created for the new challenge over at the Card Crafter's Circle - Thankful - Thank You.
I am so thankful for warm scarves, hats and mittens when the snow is falling and the temperatures plunge.  It snowed a bunch here today and that means more time out in the snow, shovelling and just trampling it down in our yard! :)

For my card I used this adorable Cozy Winter Racoon from MelJen's Designs and coloured him with pencil crayons and my new Spectrum Noir markers.  I also coloured some of the snowflakes and added some stickles to them and his nose.  The sentiment is a sticker that I added to white card stock and then matted with the card base colour.  Oh, and I added a decorative edge with some scissors. The background snowflake paper was a freebie online. (if any of you know who by, please feel free to refresh my memory!)
I hope you all are staying warm this winter! and perhaps enjoying some time in the snow, or just watching it fall from the warm side of the glass. :)

I also have a couple of pics to share of the hats that my older daughter and I made this past week.

There's Music in My Soul Today

There is music in my soul today since the Saviour set me free.....
I just love to hear the birds singing, especially when I open the windows first thing in the morning!  I just love how God has created the birds to sing and it always makes me feel happy to hear them!
Today I have a card to share with you that I've created for the Card Crafter's Circle challenge Thank you for the music.
This week we have Mel Jen's as our wonderful sponsor and this image that I've used is called Little Bird's Song and can be found HERE at the Mel Jen's store.

I used papers from Marianne Designs and some Doodle Bug twine and buttons from my collection.  The sentiment is from Tina Wenke as well.
I often think of this hymn as I listen to the birds Sunshine in my Soul and find myself singing along with the birds.  Strange perhaps.....but that's just me.  You can find the hymn HERE or HERE if you'd like to have a listen and read the lyrics.  That is if you aren't already singing this to yourself now! hehehe
I do hope you have a Happy Day today and if you have time I'd love for you to join us at the Card Crafter's Circle with something musical!

Present For You

Hmmmmm, can you smell it?  I love pie and I love giving it as a gift to others.  This week at Card Crafter's Circle, it's all about presents and since I don't get into the holidays, I have made a card with the image of a present I love to give!
For my card I've used this delicious image by Mel Jen's called Hot Apple Pie. Coloured it up with my pencil crayons and a red marker for the heart so it would be a tad bolder.  Then I chose some papers by Recollections and a sentiment from Becky's Place (An older post with this freebie). With a touch of crocheted ribbon and a few buttons, I hope it'll bring a smile to someone's face!
How about you? Do you love giving presents? We'd love to see your present cards at Card Crafter's Circle and our sponsor this week is Mel Jen's Designs as well.
Do pop over to the Card Crafter's Circle to check out the other Design Team's wonderful creations!

Thank you for popping by to see me!

Pile of leaves

Hi! Fall is here and so are all the wonderful colours and piles of leaves!  The challenge over at Card Crafter's Circle this week is Autumn Colours.  So here are my colours to share with you.  I adore piles of leaves to jump in.....yes even at my age and I love the golds and reds.
For my card I've used one of our sponsors images called Kona's Butterflies from Oak Pond Creations.  Our other sponsor is Mel Jen's so double prize this week! YEAH!
I've coloured it up with pencil crayons and markers and inked the edges with orange.  Then I attached it to some cardstock that I cut out with my 'rockies' decorative scissors.  The patterned paper was from American crafts and has a really nice shine to the polka dots!  Then I added some leaves from a blog candy I won and then a strip of ribbon.  It looked to lonely so I added some ribbon that I glued on in ruffles to create a leaf pile.  For a final touch I added the tickets from Digi Doodle Stamps that is closing (they were a freebie).  To these tickets I stamped sentiments from my mini Fiscars set.
Do you love fall? Do you love fall colours? Do play along with us at Card Crafter's Circle this week.

More Shaped Cards

Hello, I have another card to share with you to inspire you to join us at the Card Crafter's Circle- Bend Me Shape Me challenge.

For my second card , I created a flower card freehand and used some fun Stampin' Up DP that's been distressed just a bit (Most flowers my children bring me are a bit distressed to!) and then I added some faux stitching and inking.  For the front I used one of my favourite images by

Mel Jen's our second Sponsor called girl in overalls.  This I popped up over some layers of fun ribbon from the Dollar Store.  For the inside I used a circle digi stamp that I got free, but cannot remember where, sorry.

Then just for fun I made this tree card, but I thought it didn't do our sponsor justice with the image being so small.  So, here it is just for fun.

Well, I hope I've inspired you to join us.  The challenge runs all the way to Friday Australia Time (Check the challenge blog for details for time zones) We'd love to see what you come up with! Just pop over to Card Crafter's Circle for all the details and to see the other fabulous inspiration from the design team!

What Shape are You?

Hi! No I'm not talking about you personally.  I'm an hourglass, a big one.....but you don't really need to know that!   No, this week at Card Crafter's Circle we would love to see your shaped cards! No regular rectangles or squares.  Here's my effort.

This one is a sweet image that I used for the actual card shape and it's from Stamp Art Design by Kathryne: called Kingdom kids w/sentiment.
I paper pieced the heart and coloured the rest with pencil crayons.  We also have a second sponsor again this week. MelJen's Designs

so..... Yes, we have double prizes again! Yeah!

Well, I hope I've inspired you to join us.  We'd love to see what you come up with! Just pop over to Card Crafter's Circle for all the details and to see the other fabulous inspiration from the design team!

Hello! It's once again time for another great challenge over at Card Crafter's Circle.  This week it's all about stars and stripes (not necessarily patriotic).  It's not that I'm not patriotic, but I just decided to go with the basics.  I have used this wonderful star floral heart from MelJen's and coloured it with markers to help it stand out a bit more. I cut this out and matted it to some blue textured cardstock and for an added touch embroidered some added vines on it.  I popped this up over my Stripes and block papers from my stash which are matted to green cardstock.  For a final touch I added some star brads.  They were silver so I coloured them red with my permanent marker and dabbed a bit off for a slightly distressed look.  So voila....this is what I made.  Here's a close up of the embroidery.
I hope you'll come join in the fun!  If you need a bit more incentive..... this week we are being sponsored by the amazing MelJen's Stamps and they are offering the winner 4 wonderful images!
If that's still not enough incentive.....they go HERE to check out the Design Teams creations.  This will surely inspire you! See you soon!

Bunny Flowers

Are you flower lovers? I am! I love this time of the year when flowers start to emerge and give colour to the land!  Our snow is almost gone here and the tulips in my flowerbed are about 3 inches tall with little buds coming! YEAH! They are an orange/yellow/purple mix hence the colour choice for this card. I've created this card for Mel Jen's -Ovals and then for For Fun -Non-Easter Bunny but it came out kinda like that so I won't be sharing it over there this time.  I find that cards rarely come out like I have first envisioned them, but I still thought it was cute.
May you have a chance to see and enjoy some signs of spring and new life around you today!

Mmmmm....Chocolate!

I just love chocolate...mmmmm. I know I'm not alone and even though I don't participate in all the "Easter" festivities, it is a great time of year to buy chocolate.  If it was a food group I'd be super healthy! LOL
Anyhow, over at Card Crafter's Circle the challenge is Chocolate Bunnies.  Now it could be bunnies or just the colour and do tell us what you like best about chocolate?  For my effort I created a card using a MelJen's image -CuddleBunBaby.  So sweet! I've coloured it with prismas and layered it on some yummy brown textured cardstock. This is popped up over some layers of Stampin' Up paper and tied together with a wonderful ruffled ribbon and bow! The border is punched with my EK Success punch and the sentiment is from Heidi Grace!  Oh, all those sweet little red hearts are I made with a Fiskars punch and glued into place(accept the ones on the image).
Our sponsor this week is the wonderful MelJen's Designs. Winner will receive 4 images of their choice!
Hope you're having a wonderful day! If not, try eating a bit of chocolate.

Hi everyone! Hope everyone is having a wonderful day! I have a card to share with you today that I have created with a few challenges in mind.  I haven't had time to play in many of the wonderful challenges I follow.  So I was delighted to find time this weekend to create this.
The buttons for For Fun challenges, wonderful image from Mel Jen's anything goes and sketch for Dutch Dare.

For this card I used cardstock from Staples and lovely patterned paper from ATD Momenta.  The image is from MelJen's and the lace is from my local taylor shop.  The buttons are from my collection and are hot glued on so as to make sure they are secure! The center panel is popped up to add dimention.

Bottom of my Button Heart

Hello Everyone, I have a quick post to share with you.  This is a card that I've created for the Button's challenge over at MelJen's.  I just love this heart image from MelJen's and have resized it in three different sizes.  I coloured them and cut them each out and matted them to some textured cardstock same as the card base.  I then proceeded to sew on a button to each heart and then inked the edges of them with the same ink (Pretty Color- red) that I used to stamp the background.  This background stamp was a gift, and I believe it's from fiskars? not sure.  I then stamped the sentiment (which is from Whimsy Stamps), cut it out, matted it to the same cardstock as the hearts and added some inking to it as well.  Now that I had my base and all the elements, it did take awhile until I had them all where I wanted them.  This is what I've come up with.
Thank you for dropping by, I enjoy sharing with you!

I've made this card for MelJen's challenge- AnythingGoes.  I've been saving this image to use for a challenge, and now is the time! I love this little bumble bee! I've coloured them with markers and matted them to some bright yellow cardstock from Stampin' Up.  The patterned paper is from my collection and so is the button.  I added this rich ribbon from Espirt and some forever in time rhinestones.

Love is Sweet

Today I have another post for you, this one is for MelJen's challenge - Loving You.  This is such a sweet bear and I wanted to make this card so that I'd have one on hand to give a friend to let them know I care about them.  I always like to have some of these on hand!
For this card, I printed out the image and coloured it with my pencil crayons, then inked around the edges.  I layered it on some Stampin' Up cardstock and distressed the edges a bit.  This panel is popped up over a couple different layers of matted papers from Stampin' Up also.  The ribbon was a gift, and the red rhinestones are from Forever in Time.  I thought they added a nice touch.  I actually added a sentiment to the inside of this card -which I often do not do.  It's from TLC and I thought it paired really well with this image.
In the bottom corner I added a heart by Fiskars with some Colorbox ink.
I'm also entering this card in Stampin' Sisters in Christ's - Create something with Love in it challenge.
Thank you for coming by, have a wonderful day!

Thoughts and Memories

This card I've made because of a tragedy here in my city.  It happened not far from my home, just about 3 blocks away.  A whole family is believed to have died of carbon monoxide poisoning.  How tragic, and sudden.   My daughter's best friend is friends with one of the relatives of the family and it has touched them deeply!  It is in times like these that I pray that people will turn to the Saviour Jesus Christ, for hope and comfort.
I have used Mel Jen's dandilion mouse since to me blowing dandilion seeds into the air are one of my most favorite memories as a child.  The sentiment is from Dee's Designs. I have used blues and cream paper from Stampin' Up and misc buttons from my collection, plus a rhinestone for the dandilion.
I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
LittleMissMuffet- Blues and Creams
Dutch Dare- Buttons Galore

Love Is In The Air

Over at MelJen's Challenge Blog, it's all about Hearts and Love! So I couldn't help but join in!  I am using MelJen's love birds and the sentiment is computer generated.  I used my new die set from Spellbinders to frame the image and layered it on some amazing digital DP from Clear Dollar Stamps PatchPal Lamb set that you can find HERE! The ribbon was another great find at a local taylor's shop and to finish it off, I cornered it with some blue rhinestones.
Thanks so much for stopping by! I know that I've posted a lot today, do scroll down to see what else I've been up to.  Hugs!

Hangin' With Sasquatch!

Hello, this is another post I've made today.  Do scroll down and have a peek at what else I've been up to.
For this card I've used MelJen's Yeti Cocoa image.  He looks so content and laid back, I thought this sentiment from TLC was perfect for him.  I inked around the image with some lovely green ink to give it a whispy look of being in the trees.  The sketch I used is from the Here Come the Boys challenge.

Happy Birthday to ........

It's Birthday time over at Card Crafter's Circle! Come on over and join us in sharing your birthday cards.  Today is also Audrey's Birthday (13th, depending on which part of the world you're in)! Happy Birthday!!!   Hope you have a fantastic day! You can give her birthday hugs Here.
For my card I used a MelJen's Tea Cup Mouse image! Most of my cards are more feminine, so I thought that I'd try for a masculine one.  It's harder for me to do!  I added the image to some cardstock, layered it on some cardstock circles and DP from my stash.  With a bit of silver ribbon and some fun buttons that I sewed on I think it's fit for a great Man birthday!
We have a wonderful sponsor for this week!  You can check out their store HERE! The winner receives 4 of their wonderful digis!
Thank you for dropping by, and I hope you come play along with us at Card Crafter's Circle!

Hi, today I have a card that I made for MelJen's challenge - Stars.  I used this cute snow bunny from MelJen's and their star banner as well.  I love to go out in the winter and look up at the stars.  The colder it is the clearer the stars appear! I just love it!!   I used some lovely green paper from ATD and some lovely star buttons from Portafolia with some embroidery thread to go along with the star banner.  The green ribbon adds just a bit of sparkle to! Thanks for dropping by!

Little Miss Saffron

At the moment I'm just loving the snow and the great big blue sky! Two of my favorite things.   The colder it gets here, the more the sun shines!  (in the winter that is, come summer, it never stops!)  For this card I've used the beautiful little Saffron which is a new release over at Little Miss Muffet's You can get here as a freebie until Jan 3rd. Check here for more details. Do hop over to the store and peek at her other wonderful stamps!
I coloured her with my prismacolour pencil crayons and then matted her to some lovely blue and white cardstock.  The white center is inked a bit around the edges and the other is cut with my deckle scissors to add a frosty look.  The decorative paper is from my scrap pile and then I added a beautiful sentiment from Dee's Designs which I also added a bit of deckle edges to.  To finish it off I added some lovely snowflakes and pearls from Hero Arts.  All this I layered on some distressed white cardstock and adhered it to my base.
I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Not a Rectangle!

Hello, today I have a card to share that I've created for MelJen's challenge- not a rectangle.  Since I have always done either rectangles or squares, I thought I'd try something new.  So here is my very first circle card!
What do you think?  I used an image from Cuddly Buddly and cut it out with a pair of scissors.  To mask the "mistakes" I inked the edges of the scallop a bit with some black ink.  I love white sheep so I only coloured the flower and the "grass".  I layered this on some embossed green cardstock and a doily then adhered it to the card that is from some embossed cardstock.  All the embossing kinda disappeared with this layout so I used a distress ink pad from Tim Holtz in sage to bring out the patterns a bit.  After that the doily looked a bit too white so I decided that it would be nice blue! So I inked that.  I added a couple of eyelets to the edge of the card and threaded a ribbon through it and finished it off in a bow.  I added some lovely blue/green pearls and then I used my silver ink pad to brush on some sparkle to the outer ring of the card.  (sorry it doesn't show in the pic.) All in all, I thought it was fun!  Thanks for dropping by! I love all your comments! makes me want to share more! LOL
I'm also entering this card in Sweet Stampin's challenge - Sparkle and Bling
