Anytime is Apron Time!

Hello Friends!  Today I have some aprons to share with you.  I love making aprons and encouraging women to enjoy being keepers at home.  Wearing an apron not only is fun, but practical to.  I would love to hear if any of you like aprons, and why.

Titus Chapter 2
5 [To be] discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

The one above is made from an old curtain panel that I was given and I thought it was so pretty.  I love vintage things!

Below is an apron that I made out of an old pair of cotton pants that are a type of plaid (hard to tell) and some complimenting dark fabric that I had a bit of. I made two, this one and one smaller for a little girl.

Then I found some lovely floral fabric at the free store (at our recycling centre) and then added some lace that was edged with some blue seam binding.  I made one with two separate pockets and one with a large pocket sewn up the middle to make two.

This is a close up of the fabric from the above aprons.

Then I heard of a little girl that wanted an apron.  So I looked through my fabric and found this lovely pink and white striped material and the floral material and thought they'd be cute together.  I added a touch of lace and some pink seam binding to the edges.

I also found this lovely material and dug out some old lace edged ribbon that I have been hoarding for years.  I used it for the straps and some edging and then added lace all the way around the apron and pocket.

Here is a close up of the above apron's fabric and the ribbon.

Most of the material I have is from the free store or from someone who doesn't want it anymore.  It's fun to be able to put it to use somehow.  I have lots more aprons in the planning and will start sewing when time presents itself.

What do you like in an apron?  I love to have long straps and big pockets. :)
Praying you have a beautiful day!

Them that Fear Him

Praise God that he is close to those who seek after him and love him.  The Bible says that the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom.  The salvation that God gives is incredible!  He completely cleanses us from all sin (past, present & future).  Does that mean that once one is forgiven that they'll never sin again? No, it means that our sin is covered and will not be held against us when we stand before the judgement seat of Christ.  How amazing that is!  If only we will repent and believe the gospel.  That Jesus died on the cross for our sin, shedding his own blood to pay the penalty for sin; that he was buried; that he rose again on the third day in the flesh; and that he ascended up into heaven where he is right now.   The Lord Jesus Christ is not dead but alive and is able to forgive your sin like he has mine! Praise God for his amazing grace to us that if we call on the name of the Lord he'll save us.

For my card today that I've created for Word Art Wednesday I've used this wonderful free word art provided free! (and you can grab it to). I've layered it over some lovely paper and added a few crocheted flowers I made with pearls for their centres with a touch of lace.
Do pop over to the Word Art Wednesday challenge blog to get some wonderful inspiration from not only the wonderful design team but from the other entrants as well. Also there is a wonderful devotional to read as well.

Planted by the Waters

Hello!  I have a card to share with you today that I created for the wonderful Word Art Wednesday challenge. It's anything goes with a free word art that you can snag if you would like.
I found some misc papers in my stash, and I loved the swirly paper so that's the water, and a die cut tree that I was given a long time ago I found in my stash.  Then I added some great buttons to the side.  Simple yet I didn't want to distract from this scripture.
When one is planted by the living waters of God's Word they won't suffer when trials come but will find their source of strength in the Lord and His Word.  Neither shall cease from yielding fruit...how powerful that is when you understand plants.  Any disturbance can cause a plant to stop producing fruit, and yet when the life giving source of a plant/ person is the Lord Jesus then there is no interruption in fruit bearing.   Bearing fruit= good works.  May we who know the Lord Jesus and who live by God's Word continue to bring forth good fruit for the glory of God!

Praying you all have a lovely day, and do come join us at Word Art Wednesday if for no other reason than to read the wonderful devotional and see some great inspiration. :)

Book for Memories

Hi! I have some wonderful things to share with you that I've created for a dear friend of mine who is getting married this month.  Above is a card that I made for their wedding.  I know it's not "wedding" but not being able to go and be there I'll be thinking of the two of them as they say their vows.

I used some lovely paper pieces from Momenta and a paper set I got long ago.  I added a touch of doily, ribbon and a scroll backing the sentiment I die cut.   The sentiment is from a digial set I got free online a long time ago.

Now below is a little book that I've constructed to help hold some special memories for them.  I used some heavy board that I saved from something and was able to punch holes in it with my hole punch. I used some paper from a sweet paper set I got from a crafty lady, some papers from a Momenta paper pack and freebie tags from Ephemera's Vintage Garden and Shoregirl's Creations.  With some touches of ribbon, flowers, doilies, pearls, buttons and some inking the following is what has come to be. :)

I hope you enjoy!

Praying you have a blessed day!

Just Man Walketh

Hello! Today begins a new challenge over at Word Art Wednesday: Anything Goes Challenge.

Today as we think of Father's Day approaching this verse resonates.  As I look at the man the Lord has blessed me with, I also look at our children who are blessed because of the spiritual leadership he gives our family.  My husband is a man of integrity blessed by the Lord and I am ever so thankful for him!

For my card today I used a couple papers, one is a bit scuffed with distress ink and some great grid paper that I distressed a touch around the edges.  I then cut a few pieces of twill ribbon I had and made them different sizes one for each of our children.

Have a lovely day and if you'd like? We'd love to see you over at Word Art Wednesday! :)

Daisy!

Hi Friends! I love flowers, and this little flower card that came with a decorative paper set I found is lovely!  I added some lace and ribbon in the background over some misc papers I had in my stash.  Then I added some sweet little cream and white paper flowers and a couple crocheted flowers as well.  Then I added some yellow rhinestones to their centres.  So simple yet it makes me smile and I hope the lady I'm sending it to will smile to.

Praying you are having a lovely day and are able to pause in your day to see flowers and to wonder at the incredible designs that God has created in them.

The Same!

Hi!  Today I have a card to share with  you that I've created for Word Art Wednesday's weekly anything goes challenge.  I'm blessed to be guest designing for them this month. :)
Today's free verse is Hebrews 13:8 and you can pick it up HERE at the Word Art Wednesday blog.
For my card I've used this lovely paper from one of my favourite paper pads by Momenta for the background.  I added a scrap of lace and some lovely light brown ribbon.
I love this verse because it means so much.  Jesus Christ never changes.  I can always count on what he says in his word the Bible (KJV) because he never changes truth.  I can read it and believe it and stand on it!
Praying you have a beautiful day and do join us over at Word Art Wednesday!
