Carriages and sweet bundles. 

I needed some more baby cards and I found some delightful 

chipboard stickers and odd tags in my odds and ends.  

It was time to put them to good use. 

I found some fun twinkle twinkle little star paper 

and some matching papers.

It has been fun to play with paper again. 

Now they are tucked into my card box for when needed. 

So have fun scrolling down to see them all.

Bundle of Joy in a Blanket

Hello!

Today I'd like to share with you a baby card and a blanket that I made.

For the card, I dug through my stash looking for just the right papers, and these two patterned ones seemed to be just perfect. Then I added a little watch of feather paper and some lace ribbon.  

I looked through my stamps, and this one I thought was perfect for the card.

Then it was still missing something and I found this cute little dress in my chipboard collection.

I wanted to make a baby blanket as well for my friend, and wanted also to try a new pattern. 

I found this pattern called the Six Day Kid Blanket online HERE.

At the back of the pattern pdf, there is a chart to modify the size, and so I made mine smaller. Very simple and fun to work with. 

I love to look at yarn in the store, and it's even more fun when it means I can buy some to bring home to work with. :)  

I chose some yarn from the Bernat Softee baby collection.  Pink, Antique White, and Flannel.

Then it needed a brighter colour so I added into the mix the Happy (pink) from Red Heart Baby Hugs collection. 

It took me a bit but I got it finished, and I put an edging of a couple rows of single crochet around the outside to finish it off.  You can see it in the bottom of the picture. 

Well, now it's all tucked away for when I see my friend. 

I love doing these little simple things for others... just so they know that I care.

Soft Baby Things

Hello Friends!  Today I have some soft baby things that I've been making for my new niece.  I love her so much and haven't even met her yet in person.  She lives too far away to go and visit right now, so I'm sending some Auntie, Uncle, and cousin love in the mail.
 

I cut out some soft floral flannel and hemmed the fresh edges.  Then I crocheted around the edges with some variegated crochet thread.   I was surprised how easy it was to poke holes through the flannel.  So something that I won't hesitate to do again.

Then I had seen a tutorial on how to make a little quilted baby change pad.  Something I wish I had been able to do for my babies but didn't know how.  I used to put a receiving blanket over the plastic/ vinyl ones I had.  So I thought since I had these lovely flannel pieces of material that's exactly what I'd do.  SO I cut them out, found matching flannel to back them and tucked some quilting batting in between.  I quilted it with my free motion foot and tried doing a stipple stitch.  I edged it with some matching basting strips and now they're ready to go.  Now she can get her little bum changed in comfort. :)  And they're totally washable!  Plus they fold up nicely to go into a diaper bag or use at home. 

I made the receiving blanket out of the same yellow/orange floral flannel since I had a piece big enough left over.  I didn't have a yellow crochet thread so I opted for the variegated.

Bundle of Joy!

Hello Friends!  How very precious are babies and such a joy to their parents and families!

Psalms 127:3 Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.

This card I've made for my brother and sister-in-law who just had their first little baby, a girl! :)  She's so sweet and I'm so happy for them.   

For the card I've used some fun papers by Colorbok and some misc lace that I saved off of an outfit.  I used a clear stamp I had in my collection and then coloured in part of the rattle with a spectrum noir marker.  It's simple but I thought it didn't need anything more.

Sweet Babies and Dear Friends

Sweet babies and dear friends.  The first card I have to share with you is one from odds and ends that I've saved for awhile now.  I love all the little words that are arranged together.  I adore babies and dream of more of my own.  But the Lord is in control of that.  Bundle of Joy!  Some people focus on all the sleeplessness, the diapers, the work....but babies are such a blessing and a treasure.  Sweet little people to get to know.

This second card is made from papers that a dear friend gave me.  It's from Marianne Designs and is the Holland collection.  I made a small cut on each side of the circle and threaded a ribbon through and then added a stamp I have along with a snowflake flourish.  You can't tell in the picture, but I used a marker to soften the white in the ribbon to a cream colour to match the card better.

I haven't been making cards as much lately, but I do love them.  They are personal, and are special gifts to others.

I'm At It Again!

Hi Friends! I'm back at it again!  My crafty spot is finally functional again and I'm enjoying being able to create cards again.  My new space is the crafty spot for cards, sewing and mending, crocheting, and lots more crafty fun!  Here are a couple of cards that I've put together: the one above for my wonderful brother's birthday and the other for an old friend who's just had her first baby! Both for boys so I tried to keep them simple.

I used a My Mind's Eye card base and added from there.  I love those card bases to put together quick cards!

Well here is a pic of my new space that I share with all my kids now that it's in the middle of the entry/furnace/ bathroom/laundry and downstairs bedrooms. :)  So a great communal space!

Snuggles for a Little One

Happy Beautiful Day to all my crafty friends!
Today I have a blanket set that I made for a friend.  I tried a new stitch called a Moss Stitch for the inside and then a new type of scallop for the outside.  Then I made these cute little booties that have a top that wraps around a bit and buttons.  Reminds me of little Uggs.  Then I made this tiny hat and with a sweet little buttoned flower to go with it.  It is always fun to try new things and come out with something sweet for another to enjoy!

Pitter Patter of Little Feet

Hi Friends! I was wanting a baby card so I pulled this wonderful digi set out and printed off a pre-coloured image and sentiment.  The set is called Dangles and can be found HERE at the Clearly Digi Stamps store.    I used the wonderful digi paper that comes with the set and added some wonderful lace and orange ribbon!  oh, and the pearls to finish it off!
I love the pitter patter of little feet, something about it says precious to me!

I also would like to share with you a card that I made using the new Little Miracles set that was just released at the Clearly Digi Stamps Store.    I was so wanting to play with this set!

I used the outline version and coloured it with watercolour markers. Oh, and I layered the sentiment over the image.  Then I cut around the image with my decorative scissors, popped it over some paper by Stampin' Up and some crocheted ribbon.  Then for a special touch I added a few sweet buttons!

Peep Peep

Hi Friends! Today I'd like to share with you a card that I've made for a new baby I know.  I have used this wonderful chick and sentiments from the Peep Peep set from Clearly Digi Stamps. (it doesn't have to be spring to enjoy this set!)  I used the pre-coloured version and layered the sentiment into the bubble. I used some cute papers that I found at the Dollar Store and some misc ribbon and buttons from my collection.

A Little Miracle

Hello, Today I have a baby card that I've made for the Paper Craft Crew Challenge.  I messed up the sketch a bit so I'm just sharing it with you all.   I have used this cute sleeper an a hanger stamp by Stampin' Up- A slice of life set and a misc stamp of baby feet for the panels.  The sentiment I stamped on the bottom right (it says A Little Miracle).  The papers are from Stampin' Up and I added some pearls and a crocheted flower with a button.

A Little Miracle!

Yeah! Today begins another challenge at Card Crafter's Circle, and this time it's Oh Baby Baby!  I just love brand new babies and there is still a part of me that wants to have another.....yes, it's true! LOL
We have a great sponsor Robyn's Fetish this week and I've used their Goodnight Teddy.

I've used sweet papers from Teresa Collins, with a doily and crocheted flowers with buttons.  Then the sentiment is from Tina Wenke and a touch of lace.

Welcome to the World!

How incredible it is to welcome a new little life into the world! I have had the blessing to have four precious new souls and I joy in news of others.  What a precious gift from God they are!
Today I have a card that I've created for the Baby challenge over at Card Crafter's Circle!
For my card I've used an image from our sponsor this week.  A precious pre-coloured image by Pink Gem Designs called Moon Baby (I did add a touch more yellow to the stars).

 I cut it out with my Creative Memories circle cutting tool and layered it on some cardstock from The Paper Company.  I placed him over some fluffy feather paper and patterned paper from DCWV and the embossed (Cuttlebug- Baby's Breath) card base.  The wonderful sentiment is from Dee's Designs and the star flourish is from Forever in Time.

This week during our family Bible time we've been talking about the second birth.  The one that happens when one believes on the Lord Jesus Christ and is saved.  How precious that is! Then that individual is just as new and precious in the faith as a newborn baby of flesh is in the world.  For each I pray that they may grow and flourish.  Each day I marvel as the Lord Jesus is teaching my girls and watching them grow in their faith is such a joy!  I continue to pray for my boys that they to may have a new birth.

Happiness is Bubbles

Have you ever heard it said that new babies only smile when they have "bubbles" in their tummies?  Well after having 4 sweet babies, I've heard it a lot and thought that it'd be great to pair this amazing image of a mother and child from A Day for Daisies with this sentiment from TLC!
For this card I've used some bright blue cardstock from Stampin'Up paired with some gentle yellow textured cardstock from them as well.  The yellow I embossed with my swiss dots folder using my Cuttlebug and added a slip of lace.  For a final touch I put blue rhinestones in the corners.

Sweet Baby Girl

I'm back with something new.  This is a card that I've made for a few challenges.  One being Sweet Stampin' Spots and Dots, and then Little Miss Muffet's - Something New, and finally Designed 2 Delight - Winter flowers, or any flowers.  From these challenges, I came up with this.  I used a sweet onsie template from Alley Way Stamps (meant to create a shaped card but I resized it for this.).  Then after cutting them out I inked the edges to help them stand out a bit more.  I embossed the back pannel with a flower folder from Cuttlebug ( I just love this tool!).  I added some fun Stampin' Up Ribbon to help frame it in.  For the sentiment I used one by Brossart Addiction and matted it to some pink cardstock.  The buttons have a bow tied to them with embroidery thread and placed in the corners.  To  finish it off I chose a cute foot clip from Media (from Walmart). I think it's adorable!  But it doesn't end here!

I finished off the inside a bit.  Inspired by Designed 2 Delights last challenge that I didn't make it in on.  I created a little pouch to put a gift card in.  It's under the little onsie and dotted paper.  Gift cards are great for families who already have some children and don't "need" anything in particular.  This gives the family the ability to use the gift card for something that may be a bit more practical for them!

Sweet Baby Boy

Here is my boy version of this delightful teddy bear.

I always love to do a boy and a girl version of baby cards since one never truly knows (even with modern technology) what the gender will be until birth!  I have used the teddy bear digi from Jen's Digi Designs again and made him a bit softer.  I just added some soft torn feathered paper, a simple tied ribbon and a few buttons and some rhinestones for his eyes.  I think babies eyes twinkle so when they're little - so full of fascination!
