Anyone For Cake?

Do love cake? We do and it's fun to be able to dress it up for special occasions.  This is my husband's birthday cake from this week.  Too many candles would have been a danger (hehehe) so we put a lighthouse on it with a tea light inside.  Plus he loves lighthouses.  I made two different colours of blue icing and then the other colours were left over from my son's birthday.  It was a homemade orange cake and it's was so delicious! Next time though I'll add just a tad more orange juice than called for.
In my family, we love cake at any time and often just make cake for fun.  My husband found a cake decorating toolbox at a garage sale once and I just love it!  The kids have fun with it to. My grandmother was a cake decorator and even though I won't be amazing like her, I do love the art of it!  Plus it's edible! LOL
This is the card that I made for him as well.  It has a wonderful image from Shoregirl Creations and the writing is hard to read, but it's And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water.   And the inside is a scripture from Word Art by Karen.  My husband is an amazing godly man who leads our family in the Word of God every day!

Thanks for dropping by! Have a beautiful day and eat some cake! :)

Wrapped in Mommy's Love

Hello Friends! Today is a personal post that I'd like to share with you.  Yesterday was my son's 5th birthday and it's bittersweet.  He's my baby, and I miss those little stages, and yet God has blessed me with an incredible son!  One who is all boy, yet gentle and caring.

From those first few moments after birth till now he's capturing my heart.  Just like all of my children have.  I cannot understand how people can have favourites?  They are all so wonderful and each one as special as the other.

Joel helped me create his cake.  He had some construction machine candles so he wanted grass (his favourite colour) and lots of chocolate "dirt". :)  He also likes pink, so the candle didn't need to be altered! LOL

He received lots of gifts, and I made him a quilt to warm him on cold nights.  One that compliments his brothers who he shares the room with.  Something boy durable, yet snuggly! LOL

Such a blessing children are from the Lord! Each one precious.  Each one to be trained up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

"Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." -Proverbs 22:6

My Heart is Happy!

Some things make me happy.  Like flowers, and animals and From the Heart Stamps.  So here is a card that I have created with some of my favourite things.
I tried a new technique on this one that I've been eyeing on lots of other peoples' creations.  It's the multi-shaded dots for grass.  I'm quite pleased with how it turned out.
I forgot to take a picture of the inside sentiment but it says "My heart is so happy for you!!"  Another thing I love about From the Heart Stamps is the wonderful sentiments that accompany the images.
Life is full of beautiful things, and I am thankful that the Lord has blessed me with so may of them.  Whenever I feel down or discouraged, the Lord reminds me to count my blessings....how very many there are.  Then I find great smiles rise in my heart and I am happy once again!

Some Handsome Cowboys

Hi Everyone! Well, I did a few sweet girl cards so I thought I should make some handsome boy cards. I had printed out these great Bugaboo stamps and have had them for some time.  So, high time that I did something with them.  I coloured them up with my Spectrum Noir markers. I decided to make them fairly simple, because boys just have the idea that they should disassemble things.  :)

This is one of my favourite images of these cowboys! How many of you had one of these cool stick horses to play with?  Unfortunately my brothers and I only had one and none of us liked to share. LOL
My girls each had one of their own and they would play with them for hours....out on the livingroom range!

Thanks so much for dropping by!

Sweet Birthday!

A sweet little birthday greeting from an adorable Saturated Canary girl.  I layered some sweet mustard and pink papers with some My Mind's Eye papers and some corrugated cardboard.  The sentiment is from Becky's Designs and I added the touch of colour to it.  The image was coloured with Spectrum Noir markers and I inked around the image with Broken Glass Tim Holtz distress ink.
A fun little card that I put together.
I'd like to share this with Word Art Wednesday this week.
Praying you are all having a wonderful day! :)

Some Sweet Girls!

Hello! Today I have some cards to share with you that I made just for fun.

For this card I used an image from Tiddly Inks.  These Wren stamps are super cute!  I used some misc papers and added some flowery butterflies with rhinestones for some simmer.  I am trying to practice with my Spectrum Noir markers, but have a long way to go.
I'm sharing this card with Word Art Wednesday.

This card is another of Tiddly Inks Wren images and I love her casual stance!  Wonderful sentiments and additional images that make up the set. I used the fireplace for the inside of the card.  I used some papers by My Mind's Eye.
I am sharing this card At Tiddly Inks challenge blog for their current BBF challenge.

Lastly, I made a card with this super cute image that I was given by Saturated Canary for doing a survey.  I love many of her images and this one is just adorable.  I kept it simple so that you could read the words on the background paper.

Blessings!

Hello Friends! I'm finally back in what seems like forever! LOL  Today I have a card to share with you that I've created for the From the Heart Stamps freebie challenge, and I've used their sweet sketch challenge as well as inspiration.  I only used the sketch the time.  Do click on their links and check them out!
I'm sharing this card with Word Art Wednesday this week to. :)

This snowman is just adorable with his little birdie friend and I coloured them up with my Spectrum Noir markers. I used some sweet papers from Colorbok and a swatch of burlap and a misc button with twine.
I know that some of my friends are dealing with hot temps this summer, so here is some cool wishes for you!
It's actually been really cool here where I live, and I've been wanting some warmth so that my tomatoes will turn...if they don't, I'll be making some fried green tomatoes! :)
The front of my home is finally starting to look nice with the flowers blooming.  Last night the sky was just gorgeous as the sun set! I just had to take a pic before going to bed....at about 11:30! I love the long days of summer here in the Yukon!

So thank you for popping by to see me! I miss my crafting time, but life is full of wonderful things, like making making a hat for a friend in exchange for some very sweet little stamps that I hope to be sharing soon!  Here is my daughter modelling it for me. Something warm and funky.

Then there is some yummy baking we've been doing, like this cake my younger daughter made today.  The icing was a bit warm so it didn't turn out like she wanted, but it sure tasted GOOD!

There are other projects on the go and I get to working on them in between family needs and gardening.  Hope to have more to share with you all soon.
Praying you have a beautiful day! :)
