Pretty In Red Gingham

Hello!
Today I'd love to share with you an apron that I made for a dear friend of mine.
I have been given some red gingham material that my daughter found at the local dump free store.
It was so soft and I'm not sure what it was from as there was a lot of it.

I decided that an apron was in order.
I sorted through my stash of odds and ends.
Found some big rickrack in red, some lovely creamy lace ribbon,
some red seam binding, and cream as there wasn't enough red, and lastly some lovely doilies.

I made a rounded bottom to the apron, and as the picture shows below,
I added some zig zag stitching to tighten up the top of the bodice part.
I think it left a nice little pleat there.

OH, and not to be forgotten, I added some sweet little coconut heart buttons to the doilies.

On the bottom of the apron I added a couple layers of the red rickrack.

I pray that it is enjoyed.

It seems to be a far more pleasant task to care for the home in a lovely apron.

Love and Prayers,
Jennifer

A Girl Needs an Apron

Hi!  Thanks for dropping by.  I'd like to share with you an apron that I made for a special young lady who is graduating this year.

I think that every young lady needs a pretty apron of their own.

Something to not only protect the clothing, but also to feel pretty doing things around the house.

I tried to make it without too many frills but still a touch of lace I thought looked right.
Then I added a doily as well.

It was a beautiful evening when I took the pictures of the apron, and my daughter also caught this sweet sliver of the moon as the sun was heading towards sunset.

Here in the Yukon at this time of year we don't see any stars and it doesn't really even get dark.

Praying you are also enjoying the sweet days of warmth and sunlight where ever you live.

Homestead Apron and Apple Treat

Hello Friends!  I have an apron to share with you.  A friend of mine gave me this lovely homestead fabric and I thought that since she was moving into a new home and into a new kitchen I'd make her something new to wear in it.

I added some little eyelet style lace to accent it along with the two pockets.

I have also tried to make these sweet apple flowers with a butter pastry bottom.  I must say that it's not my thing to get them to roll nicely.  But.....they tasted so very yummy!  I will definitely use these ingredients, but in a different shape next time. :)  I do need to learn to make my own butter pastry.  Any tips?
