First is the bottom: 4"x 5 1/2" * four drainage holes drilled in 3/8"
The front: 8" x 5 1/2" * One hole 1" round for the bird to get in. :)
Left side: 8" x 5 1/2" * Two air holes near top drilled
Right side: 8" x 5 1/2" * also two air holes drilled near top.
* this panel is an opening panel and the top is cut at a slant so that it will open.
Back panel: 11" x 5 1/2"
Then at last the roof: 8" x 5 1/2".
* Used a total of 14 screws (one being the one that comes out to open the one panel so that the bird house can be cleaned out if necessary.
So here you have it. Basic design of a cool birdhouse and it's fun for you get to use power tools.
Hope you have a great day and perhaps some fun making something for your feathered friends.

This is the perfect project for my boys! They will love it! Thanks for sharing!

First of all, let me say how relieved I feel to be able to leave a comment without you wondering where I came from! Now that you know that I was selected to send your teacup exchange parcel, here I am. :-)
What a nice project project your boys were involved in, and then to include their grandpa. Our grandson helped my husband build the teahouse in the backyard and it was a proud project for both of them. Of course, he was in his late teens at the time but still a good bonding experience with grandpa.
I hope some birds decide to move in - won't this be the ultimate reward.
What great looking birdhouses. What kind of birds are your boys hoping to attract? I think that's really nice that they kept the plans to share with their grandpa ;)

Good Morning!!
I just love this birdhouse pattern! We made a few of them years ago out of pallet wood. I love birds and to feed and water them is something my hubby even enjoys! I saved this on my Pintest board of Craft Ideas. I would love to make some more in the future!
I do hope you are doing well!
Hugs, Roxy
