Dream

Do you like to dream? Do you like to play make believe?  I know I watch my children and they come up with some of the most interesting things.  There is a world where everything is perfect and where you can do things that are truly NOT humanly possible.  My children have a little golden book called I can fly and it's all about pretending.  For me it's ok, as long as they understand that it's not real and to learn the difference.  Imaginations can get away with us!
For my card this week I've used this cute image and I just love the swirls on the wings!  I've coloured it up with my pencil crayons and added some chalk ink to soften around it.  Then I added a pearl to each of the swirly doos.  I chose some fanciful flowered paper by K & Company to underlay this image with pearls in the corners.
To many people who love fairies and the like, and it's all about make believe over at the Card Crafter's Circle this week, do come check it out!  Our sponsor this week is Michelle Perkett Studio.

And the prize is one of the images that is showcased by the design team.  So do pop over to see the wonderful inspiration from the design ladies HERE!

Wool You Love Me?

Hello Everyone! Just a reminder that there is still time to play along with us at Scribbles Designs for our Shades of Red challenge (using a Scribbles Designs image).
For this card I've combined some great papers by Recollections as a background for this sweet Mr. Wool .  You can find him HERE!  I added a die cut heart around the back of the image panel and a sweet free kisses ticket for the sentiment!  Even though it's past Valentines, you can still find lots of ways to use Shades of Red!  Do show us what you've got! Sandy also has a freebie image on the  Scribble Designs Challenge Blog that you can pick up for using on your card as well if you'd like.
Hope you're having a fabulous day and thank you for dropping by to see me!

What is a Wife?

What is a wife?  I am learning more and more as I grow in the Lord and as a wife.  I am in no ways interested in being feministic or modern....so if I put someone off, it is not intentional.  Just my view on things that I see in scripture.  I have long heard of the Proverbs 31 woman.  Seems overwhelming, yes.  But one must put this into context and realize that she wasn't everything all at once.  The Lord grew her into this.  I look at my marriage and know that God has called me to be a homemaker.  A woman who cares for the needs of her husband and family above all else.  Yes, even crafting! hehehe
I was reading in the book of Titus in the New Testament and this is the passage that really jumped out at me as I studied about homemaking.

"The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed."  Titus 2:3-5

It's not just about being a stay at home mom for your husband, it's about being whom God has created you to be.  I hear about women saying it's prison to be a homemaker and to "work for nothing".  I disagree.  I see it as such a blessing to care for my home and present it clean and homey for my husband when he comes home from working.  To train my children, to wash laundry, to iron (one of the things I dislike very much!), and provide nutritious meals for him and the children.  All wives and mothers know that the list is much longer!  My mother and many other wonderful godly women have come alongside me; teaching me skills and encouraging me to be submissive and think of the needs of my family above my own.   I am learning still to be a good wife to my husband and mother to my children.  Caring for them in this way is a natural and challenging role for me.  I believe in this role as wife I am free to be whom God has called me to be, I don't have to run after the careers of the world to make a place for myself.  God has already made a place for me.  I find great joy in being a wife, not just  being my husbands lover, but in a way his caretaker.  It warms my heart to see him smile at that little things I do.  Having been a tomboy growing up trying to best all the boys, I have now been learning what it is to be a woman and to teach my girls as such.  My place is 'woman' and I find great honor here.

All of these thoughts have come together in my making of this card.  I just love this postcard image by Shoregirl Creations and I found this old style apron HERE and the sentiment is from TLC.  I used some papers from K & Company and a doily that I cut in two with some buttons from my collection.   Oh, and I thought that there should be a touch of faux stitching since I also mend my families clothes to.

I would like to share this with Word Art Wednesday.

Like the Butterfly

Happy Beautiful Day to You!  Today I have a card that I have created just for fun.  I have been looking at so many wonderful inspirational cards and this is the fruition of it.  The circle came from the challenge over at CAS on Sunday - circles and I was going to make an easel card like my wonderful friend Vicki has a tutorial on. (I messed up and so just had to adapt what I had with the paper I had left. It's not difficult with her tutorial, but....well perhaps I was just tired?) I shall try again for I've bookmarked her tutorial! Do go check it out HERE! And then for the embossing technique, I saw it on a friend of mine Natalie's blog and it just struck me as a must try!  Mine didn't turn out quite like hers, but I do love the different tones. Go and pop over to see her creation that inspired me, HERE!
So, I used a soft brown for the background of the embossing and a lighter brown and bundled sage ink for the raised areas.  I used some Offray ribbon, a TLC sentiment and a butterfly stamp from Inkadinkado.  The edging just looked too plain for me so I added the scallop to it.  It doesn't seem too CAS, but I tried.  My photo box is on a bit of a tilt so I added a couple of crocheted flowers to hold it in place :)
Well do have a wonderful day and enjoy all the little details the Lord Jesus brings your way!

Feeling Purple Today!

Hello Everyone, I'd love to share this card with you that I've made for the new sketch challenge being give over at Delightful Inspiration{ from the heart}.

For some reason, I was feeling like purple today.  Do you ever walk into your craft space and have a certain colour hit you?  Or maybe, it's just me.
I chose to work with this wonderful Meet Anneke image and coloured her with my pencil crayons.  I matted her to some purple paper with a bit of inking.  Then I cut panels of some Recollections paper and then embossed the background purple paper to add some texture.  The ribbon is from my collection and I added a new crocheted double flower (they're so easy to make!) and added a deep purple brad to the centre.  I did leave off a sentiment so that this card could be used for various reasons.
Well, it's quite simple but I enjoyed putting it together!  I do hope you'll come join us at Delightful Inspiration {from the heart}!

Thank you for dropping by! Have a great day!

Butterfly Friend

Hello! It's time for another wonderful challenge at the Card Crafter's Circle and I invite you to come and  play along! It's all about Teddy Bears this time and I've chosen to use this sweet teddy called Butterfly Friend (Who doesn't love Teddy Bears?)

and the sentiment that came with it (separated into to section one for the front and one for the inside) from StampArt Design by Kathryne. It is so true that God has made everything beautiful in His time, and not always in ours.  A wonderful sister in the Lord Jesus reminded me of this this past week when I was struggling with something.  Even though I have read this verse many times, it really seemed to burn in my heart.  May I humble myself to his infinite wisdom and not puff myself up to demand that I know best.  In God's time I'll see the fruit that he knew best all along!
Kathryne is giving away a wonderful prize for the winner!  You could even chose some delightful teddy bears like you can see shown at the Card Crafter's Circle this week.

I have coloured up this image with my pencil crayons and fussy cut it out.  Then I added to some layers that I made with the sketch from Seems A Little Sketchy this week.  The papers are from K& Company and the ribbon is Offray.  The flowers are from Forever in Time as well. I would also like to share this card with Word Art Wednesday this week!

I hope you're having a great day and do pop over to the Card Crafter's Circle blog to have a peek at the wonderful inspiration that the ladies there have to share.
Thank you for dropping by!

The Anchor

Do you have an anchor? A few days ago my husband met a gentleman and they are becoming friends.  This man after being in our home a bit commented that we must have a anchor as a family for the peace he seen here.  It was a joy for my husband to share with him The Anchor of our souls.  All but one of my children have also trusted in this anchor  and it is such a blessing! There are many storms our souls will face from birth to death, but one thing is sure.  The Lord Jesus if he is your anchor will hold you fast through any and every storm!  I know this from experience and praise Him for the wonderful security of knowing Him and the salvation he gives by faith in his son Christ Jesus the Lord and what he has done for us on the cross.
This is a card that I made with this man in mind, and when my husband saw it he said I was never to sell this and that he wanted me to give it to him someday! So, I'm making another just like it to put away for a 'surprise'.
For this card I've used a boat in the bottle from Esther at Shoregirl Creations.  I cut it out, inked the edges with some brown ink and coloured the waves just a bit with a pencil crayon.  Then I paired it with this word art verse from Karen at Papercraft Memories.  I've added layers of corrugated cardboard, a splash patterned paper from my collection and some Elmers braiding cord.  With a finishing touch of an inkadinkadoo corner stamp.
I would like to share this is at Word Art Wednesday.
Thank you so much for dropping by to see me today! God Bless!

Sweet Friendship Sketch

Isn't friendship sweet? It is something that the Lord has given us.  People to share our lives with, to cry with, to laugh with and to glorify the Lord with.
Today I have created a card for a friend of mine one who is always encouraging me with the Word of God.  I have chosen an image by Designed 2 Delight and you can find it at the shop HERE until it's moved to the new From the Heart Stamps store.  I have coloured it up with pencil crayons and inked the edges with a soft yellow (hoping to bring a glow the middle of the image).  The papers are from Teresa Collins Sweet Afternoon collection, the you & me circles are from the collection as well as the scalloped pendant.  Then I added a touch of light beige lacy ribbon to finish off this card using this wonderful sketch from Delightful Inspiration {from the heart}:  i {heart} sketches challenge.  As I got to looking at the sketch as I was posting this, I realized that I missed copying it out correctly.  Oops. So this was my first attempt and my second more accurate card is below!
I have also really taken to trying to finish the inside of my cards so I've attempted this one as well.  That's why I've chosen to put this sentiment on the inside.

For this I have chosen a sentiment that I used recently that I love and put it in with some more swatches of Teresa Collins paper.
I would like to share this card with the wonderful ladies over at Word Art Wednesday.

Now for the more accurate sketch card! LOL

For this card, I've used another flower image from the set Thankful for Friendship ( Yes, I do love this set!) and coloured it with my pencil crayons.  I have also used more beautiful papers from the Teresa Collins Sweet Afternoon set.  I have added the piece of a doily to the bottom that has been inked with the soft yellow ink like the image, then some lace ribbon, three yellow crocheted flowers (by me!) and some light blue rhinestones.  I've left off the sentiment because I'm not sure what occasion this should be for.  Have any ideas?

I would love to see what you do with this sketch!  If you've time why not give it a try!   Just pop over to Delightful Inspiration {from the heart}!
Thank you so much for taking the time to drop by to see me! Have a beautiful day!

Red Apples

Today it's all about RED at the Card Crafter's Circle.  Do you have something red to share with us at the Card Crafter's Circle? or do you want some inspiration? Pop over HERE and enjoy the inspiration!
For my card I've used an image from our delightful sponsor Digi Darla  called Picking Apples.

I've coloured her up with pencil crayons, cut her out with a Spellbinders scalloped oval die and inked the edges of it.  This is popped up over some sweet papers from Stampin' Up and the sentiment is Heidi Grace.  For an added touch, one of the layers I cute some white card stock underneath with decorative scissors and a bit of lace flowered ribbon.  It looked a bit empty so I added these old buttons from my stash of buttons I got from my grandmother.

I have something else to share with you today.  We are having a Design Team call going on now at the Card Crafter's Circle.  If you'd like to join us at the table we'd love for you to pop over to the blog and apply!

For Love

There are many who chose to show their love at this time of the year on a special day.  Today it's all about Valentines at Card Crafter's Circle and we'd love for you to share with us your cards!

For my card I've used an image from our sponsor Floppy Latte called Country Hearts. I've coloured it with my red fiscars marker and added some decoart glitter to the circles in the middle heart.  I've made this card quite CAS with just some matted layers and edged with a pair of decorative scissors.  For the inside, I've added my sentiment and it's from Indira Tanwar at Arty Sorts.

I have made a second card, this one using a sweet image by our other wonderful sponsor - Robyn's Fetish called Kitty Cat Luv.
I have coloured it with my pencil crayons, fussy cut it out and layered it over some great love papers by Recollections.  I have added some variegated string and a sentiment by Studio g that I cut into a tag shape.

For the inside I added a touch of the same paper with a heartbeat scissor cut above.  Then the inside sentiment is Tina Wenke clear stamp.

I Love You CAS!

Hello, today I have a card I'd love to share with you that I've created for the challenge over at CAS on Sundays.  It's a new challenge blog that I've discovered via a fellow blogging friend (Vicki from Stamp Smiles) and thought I'd give it a go. I'm not too good at CAS cards, but do find them wonderful.  So here is my attempt as CAS card this week.  The challenge is Be Mine Valentine and you can come join in the fun HERE!
I used some textured cardstock for my base and then added some words that came with a K & Company paper pack I had.  Then I added some hearts that I cut out by hand (with paper from the same paper pac) and then sewed onto the card.  So I guess this counts as CAS.  I did do the inside a touch by adding some matching paper and sewed a couple hearts on it as well.

Thanks so much for dropping by! Have a wonderful day and don't forget to tell those you love that you love them....added hugs are always a bonus!
