Something New

Hello Everyone, I just have something to share with you.  It's not a card, but I've been trying other creative outlets for a bit.  My son's blankie was coming apart (well loved) so I branched out and made him another.  It didn't end up like I'd planned.  It's kinda long, and more like a shawl.  Well it's something to snuggle with.  I hope he grows to love this one to.

Here are a couple close-ups so you can see that I used a shell pattern and then a petal border.
It was really enjoyable and I think I'll try to make something else sometime, but I'll try to stick to a pattern instead of going it on my own! LOL
Here is my sweet four year old Dylan, wrapped in Mommy's love.
Thanks for dropping by! Have a great weekend!

Present For You

Hmmmmm, can you smell it?  I love pie and I love giving it as a gift to others.  This week at Card Crafter's Circle, it's all about presents and since I don't get into the holidays, I have made a card with the image of a present I love to give!
For my card I've used this delicious image by Mel Jen's called Hot Apple Pie. Coloured it up with my pencil crayons and a red marker for the heart so it would be a tad bolder.  Then I chose some papers by Recollections and a sentiment from Becky's Place (An older post with this freebie). With a touch of crocheted ribbon and a few buttons, I hope it'll bring a smile to someone's face!
How about you? Do you love giving presents? We'd love to see your present cards at Card Crafter's Circle and our sponsor this week is Mel Jen's Designs as well.
Do pop over to the Card Crafter's Circle to check out the other Design Team's wonderful creations!

Thank you for popping by to see me!

Have You Said......

How important it is to tell others thank you......often!  Whenever I find myself feeling down I try to count my blessings.  When I do so, I find myself compelled to thank others for how they touch my life in wonderful ways!  The other day my young daughter came up to me and for no reason at all gave me a hug.  How special it is to know her love in such a simple gesture!
I have created this card for the new challenge over at Card Crafter's Circle. This week its about Giving Thanks.  If you're celebrating Thanksgiving or just wanting to let someone know you're thankful for them, we'd love to see your creations!

My card I've used an image by our wonderful sponsor Milk Coffee called Flower for Mom.  I've coloured it up with my pencil crayons and inked the edges with yellow and old paper distress ink.  The papers are from Sweet Afternoon collection by Teresa Collins (I've inked the edges just a bit). The sentiment is from Studio g and the rhinestones are Forever in Time.
Do pop over to the Card Crafter's Circle to see the design team's creations!
With all this said, I want to thank each of you who stop by to see my blog!  Regardless of whether you leave comments (although I love hearing from you!) it's wonderful to know you take the time to see what I've been doing! I pray you'll have a wonderful day!

One Another

Such a wonderful lesson, to learn at an early age! or any age.   How could one withhold forgiveness for another knowing that the Lord Jesus Christ has forgiven so much for those who have trusted in Him  and called on His name!
I have created this card with some lovely papers from Terrisa Collins and Make it Special and a gorgeous image from Free Vintage Digital Stamps.  With a touch of lace and some of my grandmother's buttons, it's finished.  I love the tones to this one!
I would love to share this card at Word Art Wednesday and Twist of Faith - Children.
I'd also like to share this card at Eureka Stamps challenge - for the children.
Thanks for dropping by!

More from My Memories Suite

Hello! A few days ago I shared some scrapbooking pages that I created with the My Memories Suite software, and then thought I'd like to try it to make cards with it to.  So I created these smaller pages, printed them off and attached them to a card base.  For my cards, I've used a set of digital papers and accessories from a set called You and Me.  This set is created by the talented Hannah Clark and you see if it's still available HERE at Delightfully Distressing Designs.  She has a few other wonderful new sets available at Can You Dig It store,  so do check those out as well.  HERE
The colours didn't print out exactly how they were on the screen (not pleased with my printer!) so the colours are more vibrant than you see below.  The sentiments on the first two are computer generated and the third sentiment and butterfly are from Teresa Collins - Sweet Afternoon.  (I popped up the butterfly for fun.)

So there are many other uses for this software, and I'm enjoying discovering new things!  If you'd like to be in the running for this software, just pop over HERE and play along. I'll draw a name on Wednesday the 21st.
Have a great day!

Do You Like Dogs?

Do you like dogs? I do, and they do add lots of texture to your life! In blankets and bones they leave laying around for you to step on.  In added hair cushion to your sofas.
For Card Crafter's Circle this week it's all about texture.  For my card I've chosen this cute puppy from Limited Runs and made a dog house for him.  I even gave him some sparkle on his bone name tag.
I'm giving this card to my daughter who loves dogs, but I left off the sentiment since I'm not sure if it's for her birthday or a just because.
I hope you do come play along with us this week.  So many textures out there, the sky's the limit and we'd love to see what you come up with!  Limited Runs is sponsoring our challenge this week, so do go check them out to!
Do pop over to the Card Crafter's Circle blog and check out the wonderful inspiration from the design team.  See you there!

My Memories Suite and Giveaway

Hello Everyone, I have a wonderful tool to share with you.  It's called My Memories Suite software.  It is a software program for crafters and scrapbookers.  I never thought I'd take to a software program like this, but Liz from My Memories encouraged me to try it out.
The last few days I've been playing away with it, once you have the hang of it, you're good to go!  This program is really well laid out and if you're a digital scrapbooker you'll love it!  There is a large array of digital materials with the program and you can buy more to add to it.  Plus you can use other digital items from your own stash! (I'll be sharing other projects I've made using this sometime this coming week.)  There are tons of other ways you can use this software, just take the time to play!
I've done up a couple pages with the pre-made pages they offer (and tweeked the first just a bit.) and then one of my own design.
I really enjoy using this My Memories Software and can see myself using it for a lot of things!

Now for a giveaway.........
I was given this wonderful software for free and I have one to give away to one of my wonderful followers!
So if you would like to join in the giveaway I'd love for you to pop over to the My Memories Suite site and then come back and tell me of something you really liked there.  Just leave me a comment on this post please.
If you'd like to to pop over to their facebook or blog or Twitter and become a follower, then just do so and leave me another comment that you did, and you can have an extra entry.

Need a Mitten?

Hello Everyone! Are you enjoying a snowy day? We sure are. I love building snowmen and this image is totally fitting with my mood today!
This image is called Mittens and is new over at Designed 2 Delight.  Looks like they've found all the mittens the children have lost while out enjoying the snow!  How thoughtful of them to display them so they can be claimed!
I've kept the layout simple and used papers from Recollections and some bronze pearls from Forever in Time.
Do bundle up and enjoy some of the snowflakes, even if it's just for a few minutes then come inside and enjoy some yummy hot chocolate to warm up!
I'm sharing this card at For Fun Challenges this week. Come join in the Buurrr your cold or Yikes your hot challenge.

We Remember!

November 11th is an important day for the world to remember!  It is the day that World War II ended.  A day to remember all those who fought for freedom there and for those who lost their lives on the battlefields.  It's hard to think of that happening, but as battles rage around our world, we should still remember those who are still fighting for similar reasons.  Poppies grow where once men fought, and it is these beautiful flowers that remind us of the price that was paid.  Thank you to the soldiers who fight for freedom!
Today begins a new challenge over at the Card Crafter's Circle, and I'd like to invite you to share with us! You can find the details HERE!
This week we have a wonderful prize put together by our very own Pauline, and it's gorgeous....do pop over to take a peek!
For my card I've used an image by Becky's Place and I've coloured it up with my pencil crayons.  The die cut is made with Spellbinders scallop oval and the little one on the tag is from a Fiscars oval die.  I added some lace and satin ribbon, some rhinestones, distressing and inking.  I hope you like it!
Have a wonderful day!

I Have Overcome the World

Such a wonderful thing it is to know that the Lord Jesus has overcome the world.  To rest in knowing that we can rest in the knowledge of serving such a Saviour!
A while back, I printed this verse off because it really struck a cord with me.  Sometimes I've struggled with things in life and to read this, it puts everything into perspective for me.
You can find this wonderful word art at Papercraft Memories - Word Art by Karen.  I've combined this with a gorgeous postcard freebie from Esther at Shoregirl Creations (You will want to check out her amazing art!), and a music tag from Sweetly Scrapped.  The paper is from K & Company and I added a bit of distressing and a matt decorated by decorative scissors and a few pearls.
Praying you will find rest in the Lord Jesus Christ, who has overcome the world!

I'm linking this up at Word Art Wednesday this week.

Snow Much Love!

Today I would like to share a card with you that I've made with a new image from Designed 2 Delight! Is't this wonderful - Snow Much Love it's called.  I've coloured it with markers and matted it to some bright orange cardstock from Recollections.  The patterned paper is from Paper Reflections.  I wanted to add a snowflake, but thought that this little white flower I made might be a good substitute (soft and fluffy) tied on with some orange satin ribbon.  I saw this sentiment on Pinterest and thought it perfect (although I can't for the life of me find who it was from -and yes, I forgot to write it down initially).  The rhinestones are just to add a touch of sparkle!
Hope you're all enjoying the day!  Find someone to hold onto and have a snuggle!

Do You Love Patterned Paper?

Do you love patterned paper? I do. So this week I'm pleased to be able to play with some for the challenge at Card Crafter's Circle.   I just bought some wonderful snowflake paper and thought this fantastic penguin by Bugaboo Stamps and it would go wonderfully together!  I used two patterned papers by Recollections, added a fun foam snowflake and some gauze under the image panel.  The sentiment is computer generated.  Plus to finish it off, I couldn't help adding some sparkle to the star and snowflake.  Oh, and there is a bit of inking on the papers I did with my color box blue ink.
So if you love working with patterned paper, or you're up for a challenge, hop on over to the Card Crafter's Circle and check out the inspiration and details there! AND there is a wonderful prize up for grabs, 7 digis from Bugaboo Stamps! Are you interested?
