Gone Fishin'

Yes, I have yet another post for today.  It seems I end up saving all my posting for when I have some spare time.    My boys are all now asleep so here I am typing away.
This time I have a card that I've made for the MelJen's Challenge - Twine or String.
I love this image from MelJen's designs and coloured it in prismas.  Then I inked it a bit with some Box Color-Blue ink.  After matting it to some wonderful deep orange cardstock from Stampin'Up I popped it up on top of some wonderful papers from K & Company.  The ribbon is from Stampin'Up and the orange rhinestones are from Glitterazzi.  For the final and special finish, I added a sentiment (stamp from Lil'Inkers) attached with some twine.  I made my own fish around the senti and added some silver "scales" to it and stamped it with some silver ink to make it sparkle a bit.
I hope it makes a fishing lover I know smile!

Mellow Out

Tis the season for yummy hot chocolate and the best time to have it is after being out in the cold.  Preferably having fun!
This card I have to share is inspired by the challenge over at Designed 2 Delight - snowmen.  I love snowmen and this is one of my favorites! It is a digi from DDH and I coloured him with prismas.  I love his stick arms and thought that this ribbon would do well to compliment them.  The sentiment is from TLC and I matted it to some wonderful chocolatie cardstock form Stampin' Up.  The sentiment and image I inked with Ink It Up's chocolate brown and then arranged it on some fun snowflake paper form K & Company.  The final detail was the little red heart button.  I love to find special places for buttons.  Hope you find the need to mellow out with a good cup of hot chocolate after some fun in the snow!

Hello, today I have a card to share with you that I made for my father-in-law.  He loves trucks and is an amazing mechanic!  I tried to keep it simple because that's the way he likes things.  This card I am entering in Here Come The Boys challenge to create a card for a man/men in your life.
Supplies:
Stamps: Truck from Paula Posts ; Sentiment from About.com
Papers: K&Company and misc cardstock
Accessories:  Ribbon from Stash and I used decorative scissors to outline the sentiment (Postal and Puzzle designs)
Thanks for dropping by and have a wonderful day!

For You

For this post, I have a gift tag that I've done for Sentimental Sundays Challenge -Masculine gifttags plus a sentiment.  I am totally enjoying Sliekje's images so here is another one. I coloured him with prismas and then cut a little hole on each side of the ropes so I could thread some ribbon through.  I secured the ribbon with some great screw brads from Forever in Time.  I then matted it all on some misc cardstock that I popped up from the rest of the tag.  For the base background I used a piece that I found in my scrap pile.  The sentiment is from Paper Smooches, I inked the edges the same as I did around the image, and it's tied to the tag with some satin green ribbon.  For a final touch I added a little metal star clip to the bottom edge of the image.
Thanks for dropping by and have a great day!
PS Do go check out Sliekje's blog.  Her images and posts are wonderul! Here

This is the Day!

Here's another card that I've made, this time for the Pixie Dust Paperie Inspiration Challenge
Isn't this a wonderful picture, I would love to have a collection as beautiful in my kitchen, but my kitchen isn't big enough for it. (My kitchen colours are blue and white) My kitchen is indeed small, but yummy things come out of there! Anyhow, this is what has inspired me to create this card.
For this card I used some light blue cardstock from Stampin'Up and then embossed some white cardstock to  add some texture.  I handcut a scalloped edge for around the verse and then added a slice of flowered lace and a blue ribbon bow.  I made the bow, secured it with some florist wire then attatched it to the card with a glue dot.  I never thought that glue dots would be so handy!  To touch it off, I added some homey blue buttons.  There is lots of time to play in the challenge to if you get inspired as I did.  Here

Each day is a gift from the Lord Jesus, I hope yours is wonderful.

May God Be Praised!

Here is a card I have created for the challenge over at Stampin' Sisters in Christ - Challenge:  Make a card of praise using music, stamp, or design paper, or just the word "praise."
When I read this verse I cannot help but praise Jesus' Holy Name for giving me the wonderful salvation that He alone offers.
I found this wonderful music patterned paper over at Mygrafico- Lindsay's stamp stuff.  It was a bit aged looking so I took that twist with my card.  I found this wonderful verse over at Papercrafts Memories (Word Art by Karen) and it is free plus a whole lot more! Beautifully done verses.  The verse I printed and inked with some distress ink and then matted it to some dark brown textured cardstock then some yellow cardstock with which I added a nice edging to with a pair of decorative scissors. After I attached the verse with pop-up glue dots, I added a flourish die cut for the bottom and then a section of lace that I inked with the distress ink as well.  To finish it off I added a wonderful metal button tied on with some dark brown embroidery thread.
I hope you enjoy this card, and most of all Praise be to God for the gifts of cards.

Thank Ewe!

Hello everyone, I'm back with another card for the For Fun Challenge Blog, this time with the next challenge - Thank You.  It's just starting so why don't you join in?
This wonderful circle digi is free from Cuddly Buddly and I have been waiting to use it since I discovered it.  They have a whole bunch of sweet images so do go have a peek.  I love white sheep, so I just left this little lamb as she is with a touch of a pink nose and a lovely purple bloom.  I used some more wonderful papers from Create with TLC, some lovely blue ribbon from Offray and some cute purple buttons from my stash.  The image came with the scalloped edges (which was soooo hard to cut out, and I black inked the edges to hide some of my mistakes! hehehe)  I used my slightly larger scalloped decorative scissors to frame it all. The base is cardstock from Stampin' Up.
As I said earlier this card is for the For Fun Challenge blog, do hop on over to see what inspiration there is to be had. Here

Homemade!

I just love homemade things from baking to cards to warm quilts.

I saw this adorable little guy on Sliekje's Digi Stamps and that's what came to mind.  I found this wonderful sentiment over at Create with TLC and thought it was the perfect combo.  I have designed this card for the For Fun Challenge - Can you smell what's cooking recipe challenge?( RECIPE: 1 food, 2 decorated papers, 3 brads, buttons or eyelets.).
So for this card I used the cupcakes for the food, two decorative papers from ATD ; one as the background and one that I used to shape the center image; then I used three brads to finish it up.  After I coloured the image with my prismacolours, I inked the edges with my blue colour box and matted it to some blue cardstock from Stampin' Up. I combined all the layers, added the brads and then popped up the sentiment with a couple glue dots from Fiskars.
I hope it will go well with a batch of cupcakes for a friend.
I'm also entering this card in One Crazy Stamper's challenge- food/drink

Bunch of Flakes

Moving on to winter.  Please scroll down to see me fall card, I posted both today.  I have been waiting to create a card with this delightful bunch of snowmen since I recieved this digi before the Digi Design House closed.  My family loves snowmen and every year we build our fair share before the snow becomes to dry to stick together.  One year we did one for each member of the family and used our own scarves and hats (spares) to dress them up with.
For this card I used some Stampin'Up textured yellow cardstock as my base and added my image and sentiment to some green cardstock also from Stampin'Up.  I threaded the ribbon through a couple eyelets from Portafolia and tied the ribbon around the base of the image.  So with a simple bow and some glittery snowflakes, I hope it makes someone smile.
I am entering this card in The Stamping Boutique's challenge - Holiday/Winter

Final Falling Leaves

Here I am again with another fall card.  Here in the north, we haven't many leaves left.  Those that are still on the trees are frozen there until next spring. This morning it was close to -40 degrees Celcius with the windchill.  Over at MelJen's Challenge Blog they are calling for fall cards.  I thought it would be the perfect time to use these beautiful leaf digis from MelJen's Designs.  I coloured them with prismas and then used some orange and old paper distress ink(Tim Holtz) to try and give them a windblown look.  I layered them on some patterned paper that I found in my stash, trimmed it with some Stampin' Up ribbon and added a few buttons with some orange embroidery thread to tie them on. The cardstock is from Stampin' Up.  Hope you enjoy the colour! Thanks for dropping by!

Take Time

I'm back again with another card for you to see.  This time I wanted to use the sentiment from Dee's Designs again and paired it with Designed 2 Delights wonderful tree!  Over at Mel'Jen's Challenge Blog they are challenging us with colour - Brown and Orange, and at Designed 2 Delight to create a thank you or thank you gift for a hostess or anyone.  So this is what I put together.  I used some bright orange cardstock from Stampin' Up then adhered some polka dot paper that I added a lacy bottom edge to.  I used some wonderful ribbon from Stampin' Up and a leaf from my kids craft stash.  The button is from my collection and I attached it with some Elmer's braiding cord.  It's hard to see in the picture, but I distressed the cardstock around the tree and added some ink to the edges of the sentiment to soften it.
I pray you'll find lots today to be thankful for.  For me, first thing this morning I woke up to more snow.  Lots of it and I am thankful for my wonderful husband who will be taking care of it for me!

Thankful Butterfly

Today I have a card for the Digi My World Challenge - Giving Thanks.  I chose their adorable butterfly digi since I love it and am thankful for the colour they bring to our yard all summer long.  The wonderful sentiment is from Dee's Designs (a freebie - Here).  She has a wonderful blog do go have a peek around and see all she's been creating.  The moment I saw this patterned paper on TLC's blog (it's free) I knew it was meant for this sweet butterfly! I coloured the image with prismacolours (softening the outside lines) and then used Color Box ink (blue) to give the background a bit of a blue sky feel.  I found this wonderful huge button in my collection and paired it with some fun ribbon from Mulicraft Imports.  With the paper having little stitches on it I added some stitched light purple embroidery thread to the corners of the image and then sewed the button and ribbon onto the card with it as well.  With just a bit of distressing around the edges, this card was an enjoyable one to create! Hope you like it.
I'm also entering this card in Sentimental Sundays Challenge - Thanksgiving/Thank You + a sentiment; and Designed 2 Delight's challenge - A thank you or thankful gift for a hostess or anyone.

Pearl in the Ruff

A treasured friend is like a pearl in the ruff.  I hope this card speaks of gratitude to you as it does to me.  In all of life, these are the qualities I cherish that my dear friends are teaching me all the time.  My daughters and I have just read through Proverbs 31. What a great inspiration she is, and as her children rise up and call her blessed I'm sure these qualities in her are something that they are grateful for.
I am entering this card in the Stampin' Sisters in Christ challenge - Create a card/project that depicts gratitude.
Supplies:
Stamps:  Sentiment from TLC
Ink: Tim Holtz distress ink- old paper
Papers:  Cardstock- Stampin' Up; Patterned by ATD
Accessories:  Misc button; ribbon from Multicraft imports; glue dot from Fiskars.

Sweet Baby Boy

Here is my boy version of this delightful teddy bear.
I always love to do a boy and a girl version of baby cards since one never truly knows (even with modern technology) what the gender will be until birth!  I have used the teddy bear digi from Jen's Digi Designs again and made him a bit softer.  I just added some soft torn feathered paper, a simple tied ribbon and a few buttons and some rhinestones for his eyes.  I think babies eyes twinkle so when they're little - so full of fascination!
I'm entering this card in Stamps R Us challenge- Bling it on; Scrapbook Sisters Challenge - Baby, Baby; The Cutie Pie Challenge- Bears! and Designed 2 Delight Challenge - Baby!

Sweet Baby Girl

Well, I'm back with another baby card.  This time I made a girl and a boy one (the boy one to follow on next post).  This card is for the Scrapbook Sister's Challenge - Baby, Baby.  I had lots of fun on this one because I got to try our some new things I got on it. For starters, I just got this wonderful digi from Jen's Digi Stamps.  She has freebie's every friday and a great store (do go check it out!).  Plus right now they have a bloghop going on!   I bought some new Stampin' Up cardstock and thought it went well with some textured light pink cardstock from my stash.  The patterned paper is a scrap I had, not sure who it's by.  For the little lacy trim, I used a new border punch from EK Success that my husband bought me!  I have been wanting this for a long time and he knew it! He is sooo thoughtful!  Then I tied up some wonderful folded ribbon from Stampin' Up.  The sentiment is computer generated.  To touch it off I added a bit of bling to sweet teddy's eyes and three to the top corner.  Thanks for dropping by, I love sharing what I make with you all.
I am also entering this card in The Cutie Pie Challenge - Bears! and Designed 2 Delight's challenge-  Baby Baby and Stamps R Us challenge - Bling It On.

A Little Bit of Winter

Hi Everyone! Here's a little bit of winter for you from the Yukon.  Our first major snow of the year - and  boy did I get my exercise!!!!!   My whole family helped! If I had to do it myself I'd probably still be out there! Our neighbor broke some ribs so we did his side to.  So here is part of our driveway and a view down our street. If it keeps snowing like this, the sliding hills will be awesome!

Love is in the air, and my cousin is getting married.  It worked out perfectly to join in the challenge over at Sentimental Sundays - Wedding/ Anniversary plus a sentiment.  I found this lovely heart stamp in my stash and thought it would look perfect with only colouring the flowers and a few of the leaves.   I tried to keep it simple yet with a bit of grace.
I'm also entering this card in Stampin' Sisters in Christ - to use a stamp that is one of your first or you haven't used in a long time.

Chirp Up

Are you down?  Need a pick me up?  I found this stamp in my stash that I've had since I began stamping.  Over at Stampin' Sisters in Christ they are challenging you to make a card with one of your oldest stamps or one that hasn't been used for ages.  So here is what I've come up with.  I just love this fun little guy!  I sponged some ink around the little chirp to make it look like he's been dancing around. A friend of mine gave me some amazing buttons so I had to add them.  They're from the Hudson's Bay Company (which no longer exists) so this card has a bit of heritage to it!
Also, this is my second post today so please scroll down and check out my Let it Snow card.
Supplies:
Stamps:  Chirp Up from Stampin' Up; bird border - it was a gift without the package, but I think it's Fiscars.
Ink:  Stampology - Onyx; Windflower - Green
Papers:  Stampin' Up smooth and textured cardstock
Accessories:  Hudson's Bay Company Buttons; Ribbon- Stampin' Up

Let it Snow

Hello, Thanks for dropping by!  Today I have a card that I've created for The Stamping Boutique monthly challenge - Winter/Holiday.  I won this stamp in one of their other challenges and think she's just adoarable! Her name is KK.  I coloured her with my prismacolors and blended some of the darker blue into the background to make it look more like snow swirling about her.  I just love it when the flakes glitter in the sunlight as they're blown around. I inked the edges and matted it on some cardstock.  I lpopped it up on some fun snowflake paper, then I added some silver and blue ribbon tied together. For a final touch I tucked in three let it snow tickets from Scribbles by Sandy (They are matted on cardstock with the edges distressed.).  I did add some silver glitter, it doesn't show in the picture, but when the light hits it, the snowflakes sparkle.
The forecast here is calling for snow and I can't wait! Those crazy carpets of ours are all ready to hit the slopes!
Supplies:
Stamps:  KK - Stamping Boutique; Tickets - Scribbles by Sandy
Papers:  Misc snowflake; Stampin' Up cardstock
Ink:  Colour Box - royal blue
Tools:  Decorative scissors- Rockies; Prismacolor pencils w/ baby oil

Time is a Ticking

This is my second post today, so please scroll down to see my Bandaid fun.
This time I have a card that I created for Cutie Pie Challenge Blog - Use a charm.  This is the first time I've added a charm to a card and I found this sweet little CooCoo Clock.  I love birdhouses and this clock is a bird house so I used this wonderful image by DDH to compliment it.  Our winter birds are looking for the winter bird feeders and the birdhouses are collecting lots of snow!  I love to watch the birds all puffed up to keep warm waddling around in groups talking to each other.  I'm so glad they love our yard despite the fact that my kids are boisterous.  It's like they enjoy watching us as much as we enjoy them.
For this card I added lots of distressing along with some distress ink sponged on the sentiment and around the image.  I layered the felt flowers (using a bronze marker to highlight the edges of the petals on the middle flower) then used a bead with the metal "stick" to hold them together.  Then I wrapped some ribbon around the card, and tied the charm on with some gold cord.  After that I tucked some gold beads under the sentiment, popping it up along with the image.  I love how it turned out!
Supplies:
Stamps:  DDH seasonal birdhouse; computer generated sentiment
Papers:  ATD; Stampin' Up
Ink: Tim Holtz distress ink- old paper; Bronze marker
Accessories:  Charm- Blue Moon Beads; ribbon- Multcraft Imports; misc felt flowers; gold beads on a stick

For the Love of Band-aids

I pray none of you will be needing this card!  I made it for the challenge over at Mel Jen's Designs - to use a brad(s).  I love to have cards like this on hand, because accidents happen without warning!  Especially to me.  My husband would love to ban me from all hot and sharp objects at times.  I figure that every scar has a story to tell.
I had lots of fun creating this card. I layered some great bandaid paper with some gauze, circle mesh and of course the wonderful sentiment by Mel Jen's Designs (I added some inking to the sentiment rubbed out since pain always seems to stem outwards).  To top it off I added a couple of yellow square brads to two of the corners and a delightful mini bandaid with a smile.  I always add the smile to my little guys bandaids and it seems to make everything ok.
Supplies:
Stamps: Mel Jen's Get Well Sentiment
Papers:  Stampin' Up and Hot off the Press Inc.
Ink:  Ink it Up- cranberry ; prismacolour pencil crayons
Accessories:  2 yellow brads; gauze; mini bandaid

Treasured Friend

How I truly treasure my friends but don't let them know as often as I should.  This card was created for a wonderful friend of mine who has helped me to enjoy my creativity.  She has taught me the art of flower arranging at her shop and how to see bouquets of colour, not just in flowers, but in life.  She's a wonderful friend to me and to my family.
She, like I love wildflowers so I thought she'd love this image.  It, and the sentiment are from The Paper Garden.  I used some lovely paper from ATD and cardstock from Stampin' Up.  I distressed the edges a bit, and added some button, just because I love buttons!
I am entering this card in theSweet Stampin; Challenge - Anything Goes.  I had forgotton about this wonderful challenge blog and just found it in my bookmarks.  There's still a bit of time if you'd like to play along.

Hello Everyone, I just wanted to invite you all to check out the great giveaway over at Pixie Dust Paperie for the month of November. Here
