Some Sweet Gifts

Hello! I'd like to share with you a few cards I've made lately.  This first one was created for a friend of mine.  I wanted something simple and so I chose to use this cut out from a paper sheet with a bunch of great images on it. All I did was layer it over some decorative papers, added some seam binding and ribbon with a pearled crochet flower.  Then I made the inside (below) to compliment the front.

This second card I made for a friend's wedding.  I wanted something simple and not too fussy, with a touch of the wild to it.  So I used some paper from Momenta and created a kinda chair rail with it.  To hide the seam, I added some simple lace.  To add a special touch to the card, I also made the inside to compliment the front. But switched the papers.

Here is a pic of the blanket that I made to go along with the wedding card above.  This couple loves the northern lights so I made them a blanket that reminded me of the dancing lights surrounded by the night sky.  This is the biggest blanket I've ever made and hope it's big enough for them to snuggle under comfortably as they watch the northern lights someday. :)

Thanks for dropping by! Praying you have a lovely day!

A Mini Sewing Room Re-Do

Today I'd like to share with you a mini sewing room re-do.

Just a bit ago I was gifted with this old sewing room in a book that had been a gift for a quilting lady.   She was looking for a new home for it.  It was a bit tattered and needed a little tlc.  The moment I saw it I thought of a dear friend of mine and fixed it up as a gift for her.

I took off the tags on the binding of this "book"

Cool shot of the pages.

Here is the inside of it when I opened it up...what a treasure!

I was checking it out and taking pictures of it on my bed while my son played legos beside me.
One of my son's was so upset that he couldn't keep it and play with it.  I said we could make him something like it one day...and he said, "make it a truck garage Mom" so that may be up coming. :)

So after some cleaning, glueing and adding a couple touches such as some thread to the mini spools (sorry I forgot a pic of those and the mini scissors in the sewing basket) and a bouquet of flowers on the mini quilts in the far right basket.

It was finished.  Wouldn't this be a delightful little sewing space?

I used some material left overs from making my son's pillow cases.  This pattern is called Recipe for Friendship....as you can see on the bottom of the "book" binding.  I also used some lace to cover the edges and give it a sweet touch.

My friend loves little mice and this sweet image by From the Heart Stamps is one of my favourites and I knew she'd love it.  So I made up a little note for the inside for her.  Tacked it up with some sewing pins on the inside cover.
I also put a couple pieces of velcro on the edges to help the book stay shut better.

This was such a joy to do and love how it turned out.
Thanks for dropping by! Praying you are having a beautiful day!

A Place To Lay My Head

Hello everyone, if you're still out there. :)  I know I've not been around.  I have been doing lots of crafting of all sorts.  So I'll be doing a few posts to share some of what I've been up to.

To start with, I was looking at a lady's blog the other day and she'd posted how she'd made some new pillowcases and added some lace for a sweet vintage touch.  So I thought I'd give it a try.  I had some material in my stash from here and there so I gave it a go.  This is what I came up with.

Then I came across some scraps of quilted material at the dump free store so I decided to make myself a couple new pot holders. :)

I do enjoy sewing and have a few projects on my list to complete.

Oh, and my sons were wanting new pillowcases to and picked out this material for themselves.

Hope you all are having a beautiful day! :)
