Stripes and Gracie

Happy Sunny Day to You!  I hope you're enjoying some sunshine, even if it's just on the inside.
Today I have a card to share with you that I've created for the Card Crafter's Circle challenge this week.  Stripe Me Silly!

Our wonderful sponsor this week is Stamp Art Design by Kathryne and I've used her fabulous Gracie image and sentiment.  I've coloured her up with pencil crayons and yes, if you look at her dress, I made a huge booboo! After my card was all done I accidentally dropped a stamp pad on her! Eeeek! Any suggestions on how to cover that?  I used some wonderful stripped paper by Recollections and some corrigated cardboard with a gel corner with a piece of matching paper under it.  That wonderful doily is a Cherry Lynn die that I earned by selling some of my crocheted flowers! Then after popping up the sentiment I added a bunch of pearls (ready made and liquid).
I hope you have time to join us this week, stripes are so much fun and who wouldn't want to win some wonderful digis by Stamp Art Design by Kathryne?  Do pop over to the Card Crafter's Circle to see some wonderful inspiration from my fellow designers!
Have a beautiful day!

Homemaker in Training

Hi there! Today I have a card for you so see that I made for the wonderful new challenge beginning today at the Card Crafter's Circle.  It's all about FOOD!
For me I love to bake and cook with my kids, and my daughter's are learning to be wonderful homemakers!  Whether you're a stay home homemaker or one that works outside of the home, these are wonderful skills to teach our daughters and sons.  (Yes, boys need these to so they can help out when needed!)  Today I've used this wonderful mother daughter image and the sweet pies from MellonHeadz Designs.
With some paper from K & Company and some Misc ribbon and a corner stamp from Heidi Grace.  This was just about finished.  Then I found this wonderful circle sentiment that I found in my collection and it's just fantastic!  I don't remember where I found it, so if you know do let me know!
I believe that all women are to be keepers of the home in the capacity that they are able to!  It is such a blessing to me to be a homemaker and to care for my family.  It is a joy to see my children learning to care for each other and to serve each other as unto the Lord Jesus.
"And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men"
- Colossians 3:23
Do you love to teach your children and others how to care for their homes? Do you love food? We'd love to have you share with us at the Card Crafter's Circle
Have a beautiful day!
I'd like to share this card with Word Art Wednesday this week!

Butterfly Wonder

Hi Everyone! Today is a new challenge at Card Crafter's Circle, and it's construction time! This time round I've chosen a simple easel card (I've never done it before now.) and used a very sweet little girl image from Digi Darla's called Butterfly Wonder!

I've coloured her up with my pencil crayons and her little butterfly to.  Then I used some lovely papers by Recollections, some crocheted flowers with brads, and some punched butterflies that I coloured dots on to match.  Plus of course the fun 'grass' I created with my EK Success border punch and the stems for the flowers were from a studio G flower stamp.
Thank you so much for coming to see my card! Have a wonderful day and do pop over to see the fabulous inspiration from the others at Card Crafter's Circle!

Clear Digi Stamps May Release

Hi Friends, today I'd like to share with you some of the new releases at Clear Digi Stamps this month. Being showcased at the Clearly iStamp blog.  I have chosen to use the set Rubber Boots (pre-coloured image and sentiment) and the green digi paper with the set.  I added a crocheted flower with brad and some rhinestone butterflies.

I've also chosen to create with this great Construction set! I chose the outline version of the truck and sentiment. I coloured it with my pencil crayons and then added liquid pearls to the headlights and crystal lacquer to the windows.  I used a metallic pencil for the silver (chrome) and it has a bit of sparkle to it in the light.

My youngest son loved this card so much that I had to promise to make one for him (different sentiment of course. LOL).....he just adored that truck!

Thanks so much for dropping by to see me and the wonderful new releases from Clear Digi Stamps.  Do pop over to the Clearly iStamp blog to see the rest of these fabulous new sets!

A Woman I'm Thankful For

I believe we all have a woman in our lives that has made an impact on who we are today!  As a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, I look up to other older women in the faith and the lessons that they share.  I have a friend named Rose-Marie that I love hearing from (we live a long ways apart) and she always is encouraging and real with me.  She's such a blessing!
Titus 2:3 "The aged women likewise, that [they be] in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;"
Each day is a day to learn and to put into practice those things learned from God's Word.
Today begins a wonderful new challenge at Scribbles Designs.  It is to make a card for Mother's or a special woman in your life.
I have used one of Sandy's beautiful flower images (Flower 2) and I actually coloured it with water based markers.  Then I used some distress in in broken china to ink the empty space.  The background is a fun embossing technique: you ink the folder and then emboss and the raised area is white, this I inked with another colour.  The sentiment is from Studio G and then I added a few ribbon layers.
We'd love to see your creations for the special ladies in your life! Do pop over to the Scribbles Designs Blog and see the wonderful inspiration that the design team has created for you and then check out the details of the challenge! Oh, and if you'd like to get an image from Sandy's store to play along (this is optional, but we love to see them) you can pick one up HERE at the Scribbles Store.
Have a wonderful day and don't forget to make time to tell these ladies that you love them!

I'd like to share this card with Word Art Wednesday.

I coloured these wonderful chicks up with my pencil crayons and fussy cut them out.  I used papers from Recollections and some vellum from my stash.  It's hard to see in the picture, but the vellum is cut in a semi-circle with a scalloped edge to match the opposite panel.  The sentiment is from this sweet set to!

Learning New Techniques

Hello Everyone, I just want to share with you some of the fantastic cards that I made last week at a card class I was blessed to attend.
This one was a lot of steps.  The birds are actually foil that we transferred with a stencilling tool, then we glittered the branches and then glittered the rest.  It was all on this sticky paper that I cannot remember the name of.  Very fun! I came home with tons of sparkles -all- over me! hehehe

Then we did this card and theres a ton more to it than meets the eye!  These are all stickers that have been coloured (they were silver to start with).  We pealed the silhouettes out and put them on acetate and cut them out.  The we used a special tape to get the rest of the stickers and transferred them to the card base.  the acetate was heated to to make it lift off a bit and a glue dot holds them in place!  Something I never knew you could do with stickers! Fun!

Then on to this one! We actually painted the background with glitter ink misters and then embossed the vase and used a stencil to cut it out.  The pussy willows are pasted and the vase is inked and pasted in clear.  It was really interesting!

Then, I must say this next one was one that I always wanted to try! A cascading card! Totally worth it!  Love the wonderful die cuts and flowers we used to decorate with and we all left with instructions so I hope to make another one!

Thank you so much for peeking at my pics! It's always fun to go to a class and learn new things!
Have a wonderful day!

Time for Tea!

Do any of you enjoy tea parties? I do, and I love the femininity of it.  I'm not a hugely girly girl, but I do love flowers and pretty things....like tea cups and saucers!  My mother gave me some beautiful cups and saucers, one for each of us girls (my daughters and I) and they have a cherished place in our kitchen!  Some of my favourite memories growing up was having a cup of tea with my parents.  I so cherish them and the wonderful memories that I have with them!
Today's challenge at Card Crafter's Circle is Pink and Yellow and so I've combined some lovely papers from Teresa Collins, a doily, some lace and pearled flowers.  The wonderful tea cup image called Tea Time Stacked Tea Cups and is from our fabulous sponsor Floppy Latte Designs.

Do you love pink and yellow? We'd love to see your creations! Just pop over to the Card Crafter's Circle for some wonderful inspiration and to join us!

Flowers Anyone?

I just love flowers and the wonderful colour and smell they bring with them! Today I have a card to share with you that I've made for the new challenge at Card Crafter's Circle.  It's all about flowers this week!  I have used this beautiful image by Michelle Perkett.

I've used a flourish stamp to surround her and then inked with red to blend it in a bit.  I used some scraps of paper and added sliver dots to the green and the centre of the flowers in the image.  Sorry it doesn't shimmer in the picture.  I also added some flowers and some leaves of a die piece that my daughter gave me! Oh, and a touch of ribbon.  I have left off a sentiment so that I can use this for a variety of occasions.
I just love all the amazing variety of flowers that God has given us to enjoy!  Do pop over to the Card Crafter's Circle blog to see some incredible inspiration and check out all the details!

Where To?????

Hello! Are you ready for another fancy fold and a Scribbles Design image?  Here's Sandy's wonderful Hike Brr all dressed up and ready to start on an adventure!  There's still time to play with us at Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog!
I've coloured him with pencil crayons and a sharpie ( I just couldn't get the black right so.....) I found this really great fold while poking around at fold cards and thought I'd give this a go.  I used misc papers that I was given from a friend! I love scraps from others....one woman's trash is another's treasure!  Then I added a fun page panel behind Brr and some fun sticker fish, eagles and a few others on the inside.  I took a button and popped a leaf brad in it and then popped it up on a foam square.  Oh, and a fun detail that I just had to try was paper piecing the map!  I left a sentiment off because I'm not sure what occasion I want to use this for.....any ideas?
We want to see your fancy shaped and easel folded cards! so pop over to the Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog and share share share! Remember that you get UNLIMITED entries if you use Scribbles Designs images and 3 entries with other images.
Here's a few more pics for you to see.
