Construction Time!

Hi Everyone!  Today I have some cards to share with you that I was inspired to create by the Anything Goes challenge at Card Crafter's Circle this week!  Our wonderful sponsor is KPM Doodles and this set is called  Construction Zone and can be found HERE!

So Here are my cards, I couldn't just make one so here's a bunch! hehehe

For all for all of my cards, I have used the pre-coloured images from the Construction Zone set and popped them up over some torn layers of cardstock and I've used a couple of sentiment stamps from my collection and a circular stamp.  (The Happy Birthday stamp is also supposed to look like this......like the truck is rumbling by.)  Oh and the last card I used a swiss dots embossing folder.  I will no doubt use these for my boys who love big truck and play in the dirt! LOL
Now it's your turn......what has inspired you this week? It's anything goes at Card Crafter's Circle......so we'd love to see what you create!
Do pop over to the Card Crafter's Circle to see the wonderful inspiration from my teamies!
Have a wonderful day!

I Hope In Thy Word

Hello! Thanks for popping by to see me today!
Life has been kinda pressing lately.  Lots of good things, and time is very full!  Whenever I feel like I'm getting overwhelmed, I know where to run to!  I find that spending time with the Lord Jesus in His Word settles everything out and puts everything in it's place.  I have had this scripture passage word art created by Karen from Papercraft Memories sitting on my craft table for a bit.  Last night I finally put it together into a card.  I have used a beautiful bunch of yellow roses and daisies digital art from Abby at Little Birdie Blessings a while back.  With this, I have also used a soft yellow script by MelStampz and some some lovely lace and ribbon.
So, if you're finding like life is getting a bit out of control, turn to the one who really is in control and let him have the reigns.  Take time to smell the delightful roses that God has given us!

I'm sharing this over at Word Art Wednesday this week.  Do pop over to a wonderful place of inspiration and encouragement!

Birthday Birdie!

Hi! I have a card I'd like to share with you today.  This sweetheart sharing a cupcake with the birdie is an image by Designed 2 Delight as part of the freebie challenge going on HERE! It's called Tweet Birthday Gift and can be found HERE!  If you play along, then the next months image is free, and so on! Who wouldn't want a chance to have some of Faith's incredible images?  So do pop over an play along!
For my card I've coloured it up with my prismas and a touch of marker for some small details.  Then I rounded and inked the edges blue (hard to see in the pic).  I layered up some fun papers by K & Company and tied on a ribbon by Offray with small rhinestones in the bottom panel.  The sentiment is from Lil' Inkers and the cupcake is 'iced' and glittered.
I hope you're all having a great week! Thanks for dropping by!

Penguin Thanks

Hello, I've another card to share with you this week!  I wanted to create a masculine thank you card and thought that these penguins could help  me out.  This handsome guy is called Brrr and you can find both images and more on this page HERE!
The paper is from Recollections and the ribbon is from Offray, the sentiment is an old block stamp and the flourish (I hope it's not too girly) I added for a winter breeze that's blowing Brr's scarf.
Do go have a peek around the Scribbles Designs store and if you like what you see and would love to work with Sandy's wonderful images then I'm pleased to say that she's holding a design team call right now until the middle of January.  You can find the details HERE!
Have a great day, and if you're blessed with snow, and some frosty air - give a big smile to someone!

With Heartfelt Grief

Hello! Today I have a card that I'd like to share with you that I've made for my husband's Aunt and cousins.  This past weekend they've laid to rest his Uncle.  Even though he was in his 70's, it was a phone call we weren't expecting.  This was a man that if you met him you'd never forget him.
I'm not very good at sympathy cards and then when I discovered this image by Dee's Designs I knew it was the right one.  You can find it HERE!
It is so hard to say goodbye, but knowing that he believed on the Lord Jesus Christ for his salvation, I will see him again.  Praying for his wife and their children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren as they get used to living without his tangible presence.
This sentiment is also available at Dee's Designs and can be found HERE!
Sorry for the "bright" pictures.  I am having a hard time getting them just right.
Take Care and have a great day!
I'd also like to share this card with Word Art Wednesday this week.

Give unto the Lord

Hello Friends! With all the holiday festivities going on, I am compelled to share this.  I know many of you celebrate the holiday as Jesus' Birthday.  I personally don't partake in the holiday because of the mixture of paganism with the truth of Christ Jesus.  But, for those of you who don't share my personal conviction I want to challenge you to contemplate this.  Christ is no longer the babe in the manger, He is the Risen Lord sitting at the right hand of God the Father in Heaven.
I have been told so many times that it's just celebrating Jesus' birthday, but how many people throw a party for you and put out pictures and remembrances of you as an infant?  They celebrate you for who you are now.  So as you go about your festivities, remember to look up to the Saviour who has already lived, died on the cross, been buried and has risen again having overcome death and sin and hell.  All he asks is that you believe upon His name and he'll forgive you of all your sin and give you a place in his heaven.
May we give glory to the Lord, remembering that yes he was born of a virgin according to the prophecy of old, and is now the Lord Jesus Christ in Heaven.

For my card, I've used some wonderful word art by Karen from Papercraft Memories and layered it over some wonderful papers by K & Company. I've added a touch of lace and some scattered pearls.

I'm sharing this over at Word Art Wednesday.

Pretty Pen/Pencil Jars

Hi Everyone! Another couple creations that are not cards.  My husband re-arranged our office space and I now have my own computer desk.  Therefore, I found I needed a container for all my pens/pencils.  I have been seeing lots of great uses for jars and thought this would be a fun one.  My husband didn't like the idea of just a jar, so I dressed it up a bit.  (That's the first one) Then, since I liked it so much I made a second one for my homeschool desk.  I must say that my friend Karen from My Cup Runneth Over in many of the creations she makes has helped inspire what you now see.  For the love of lace, ribbon, buttons and flowers.....here are my new "jars".
For the first one, I glued the lace right onto the band (that way I can switch it out for another. although I don't see myself doing it.....the possibility is there) and then tied the ribbons on and glued on the flowers and buttons (and a tad more ribbon).
For this jar, I got it from I believe a garage sale.  I loved the blue floral pattern it has.  I glued on some lace (right to the jar since I don't have a band to fit.) and then wanting to do something different with the ribbons.....I started to play around with my sewing machine.  I ended up stitching the two ribbons together and then just bunched them up along the glue line, leaving the ends to hang down.  I added some crocheted flowers I'd made with a blue flower to the centres.  Still looking like something was missing, I added three small folds in around the flowers.
I had so much fun making these, and there are endless possibilities.  I'm thinking that these might make fun gifts?  Would you put on on your desk?
Thanks for dropping by! Hope you're enjoying the weekend!

Let it SNOW! Yeah!

I do love the beauty of the snow! Today I have a card to share with you for the Card Crafter's Circle and the challenge is all about using Red White and Green.  I am using a wonderful image from our sponsor Robyn's Fetish called In the cold.

I love it because it reminds me of when I would get all bundled up at the first sign of snow and head for the sliding hills!  The sentiment is a freebie by Desert Diva.  I used some misc paper and embossed the white cardstock with snowflakes and added a touch of sparkle with rhinestones.
Now it's your turn to show us your Red, White and Green side!  Want more inspiration? Head on over to the Card Crafter's Circle and see what the rest of the team have put together for you!

Another Crocheted Creation

Well, my little boy didn't take too well to the other blankie I made for him.  He wouldn't snuggle with it so I embarked on another one.  It's a new patterns and a bit softer yarn.  Thus far he seems to like it a bit more.
This pattern is a shell pattern that scallops along the side and top.  I really love the weight and design this makes!  Here are a couple close up pics.  It took quite a long time, but I can see myself making more of this pattern!

Thank you for dropping by! I pray you have a great day!  Oh and do scroll down to see my Seems A Little Sketchy creation.

Are You Ready for a Great Sketch?

Hello Friends! I have a card I'd like to share with you using the new sketch over at Seems A Little Sketchy.  This will be my last card as a design team member with them.  I do love their sketches so will be over to visit often!
I've embossed the base with baby's breath and layered some wonderful papers by Magenta.  The ribbon is So-Facile (I frayed at the ends) and the tickets are from the Digi Doodle Shop (I've inked them green and attached them with a metal star brad that I inked with a marker to match).  And last but not least, this sweetheart of a girl is Jasmine from Kenny K who is our sponsor for this challenge and is putting up a great prize.  I've coloured her up with pencil crayons.  Since I don't like belly shirts, I've coloured her belly to look like a layered top.  My thirteen year old says that layers are all the rage!

So, if you'd like to join in our sketch challenge, or just to see the Design Team's inspiration then pop over to Seems A Little Sketchy!

Thanks for dropping by!

I'd love to send all of you cosy winter wishes!  Here in the Yukon it's super snowy and cold and I'm holed up in my cosy home!  This week at Card Crafter's Circle we have a new challenge beginning.  It's December Celebrations.  So whatever you may be celebrating this month, please come and share it with us.  I have a sweet little girl who will be having her birthday this month and she loves dogs and snowmen, so I thought that this might be enjoyed by her!
For my card, I've used a wonderful pre-coloured image from our sponsor Whoopsie Daisy and it's called winter bench.  I've combined it with some Recollections paper and some lace and ribbon I bought at Wallmart.
Have a great weekend and perhaps some time for crafting.  Do come visit the Card Crafter's Circle Blog and see all the wonderful inspiration to be had! See you soon!

Mourning into Dancing

In all that life has to offer, there is nothing like the Joy that can be found in Christ Jesus the Lord!  Every time I read this passage, I cannot help but think of the times in my life that I've felt despair, only to have it turned into gladness by the Lord.  May we who have know the joy of the Lord and the great Salvation through Christ Jesus the Lord never be silent.
For my card today I have used a wonderful word art from Word Art by Karen who is at Papercraft Memories.    I've inked the edges with old paper distress ink from Tim Holtz and then layered it over some distressed papers by K & Company.  Then I added some lace ribbon, a bow and some pretty buttons.
I would like to share this with Word Art Wednesday.  They have wonderful encouragement there, so do pop over to see them!

Let it Snow!

Oh for the love of snow, let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!
This week there is a challenge going of over at the A Day for Daisies blog and it is to use this adorable snowman- Snowball Scott! Yes, since I love snowmen, I couldn't pass this up.
I've coloured him up with my pencil crayons and added some frosty sides with my decorative scissors.  The paper is from Recollections and the "snowflake sparkles" are Forever in Time rhinestones.  The foam snowflakes are from my collection to.  Then, for the delightful tickets, it is from Scribbles Designs and can be found HERE!
I hope all of you who are experiencing tons of snow take time to enjoy each little snowflake that lands in your hands, or on your nose!
Have a great day!

View from the Seashore

Well, here is another creation of mine, that's not a card.
I just love the seashore, even though I don't live anywhere close to it.  A few years ago I received this beautiful cross-stitch and finally finished it.  I found this frame at the recycling center and thought I'd give it a home.  I've been following Karen at Papercraft Memories and she is often painting and adding charm to her projects/ signs.  So I thought I'd try to paint this.  I used Kaisercraft white paint and then after it dried, I sanded some of it off.  I kinda like how it turned out. Then it looked just too plain so I added some crochet ribbon some twine that I knotted and a bunch of old buttons from my collection.  It's now hanging in my bedroom.  Below is a close up of some of the buttons.
Below is a picture with a bit of a shadow on the bottom left corner and you can see the vibrant colour that the glass hasn't hidden in the light.
Thank you so much for dropping by.  For some reason lately I've been doing other crafty things?
Have a wonderful day!

Love to Eat Cake!

Today I have a simple birthday card that I've made up for a man.  I'm not that great at masculine cards, but I thought this cake and these papers from K& Company would suit well.  This is a new image from Designed 2 Delight and is simply called Happy Birthday Cake! YUM.  You can find it at the store HERE!
I left it really flat so that I can mail it out easily!  Hope you're having a wonderful day and perhaps enjoying some cake!

Something New

Hello Everyone, I just have something to share with you.  It's not a card, but I've been trying other creative outlets for a bit.  My son's blankie was coming apart (well loved) so I branched out and made him another.  It didn't end up like I'd planned.  It's kinda long, and more like a shawl.  Well it's something to snuggle with.  I hope he grows to love this one to.

Here are a couple close-ups so you can see that I used a shell pattern and then a petal border.
It was really enjoyable and I think I'll try to make something else sometime, but I'll try to stick to a pattern instead of going it on my own! LOL
Here is my sweet four year old Dylan, wrapped in Mommy's love.
Thanks for dropping by! Have a great weekend!

Present For You

Hmmmmm, can you smell it?  I love pie and I love giving it as a gift to others.  This week at Card Crafter's Circle, it's all about presents and since I don't get into the holidays, I have made a card with the image of a present I love to give!
For my card I've used this delicious image by Mel Jen's called Hot Apple Pie. Coloured it up with my pencil crayons and a red marker for the heart so it would be a tad bolder.  Then I chose some papers by Recollections and a sentiment from Becky's Place (An older post with this freebie). With a touch of crocheted ribbon and a few buttons, I hope it'll bring a smile to someone's face!
How about you? Do you love giving presents? We'd love to see your present cards at Card Crafter's Circle and our sponsor this week is Mel Jen's Designs as well.

Have You Said......

How important it is to tell others thank you......often!  Whenever I find myself feeling down I try to count my blessings.  When I do so, I find myself compelled to thank others for how they touch my life in wonderful ways!  The other day my young daughter came up to me and for no reason at all gave me a hug.  How special it is to know her love in such a simple gesture!
I have created this card for the new challenge over at Card Crafter's Circle. This week its about Giving Thanks.  If you're celebrating Thanksgiving or just wanting to let someone know you're thankful for them, we'd love to see your creations!

My card I've used an image by our wonderful sponsor Milk Coffee called Flower for Mom.  I've coloured it up with my pencil crayons and inked the edges with yellow and old paper distress ink.  The papers are from Sweet Afternoon collection by Teresa Collins (I've inked the edges just a bit). The sentiment is from Studio g and the rhinestones are Forever in Time.
Do pop over to the Card Crafter's Circle to see the design team's creations!
With all this said, I want to thank each of you who stop by to see my blog!  Regardless of whether you leave comments (although I love hearing from you!) it's wonderful to know you take the time to see what I've been doing! I pray you'll have a wonderful day!

One Another

Such a wonderful lesson, to learn at an early age! or any age.   How could one withhold forgiveness for another knowing that the Lord Jesus Christ has forgiven so much for those who have trusted in Him  and called on His name!
I have created this card with some lovely papers from Terrisa Collins and Make it Special and a gorgeous image from Free Vintage Digital Stamps.  With a touch of lace and some of my grandmother's buttons, it's finished.  I love the tones to this one!
I would love to share this card at Word Art Wednesday and Twist of Faith - Children.
I'd also like to share this card at Eureka Stamps challenge - for the children.
Thanks for dropping by!

More from My Memories Suite

Hello! A few days ago I shared some scrapbooking pages that I created with the My Memories Suite software, and then thought I'd like to try it to make cards with it to.  So I created these smaller pages, printed them off and attached them to a card base.  For my cards, I've used a set of digital papers and accessories from a set called You and Me.  This set is created by the talented Hannah Clark and you see if it's still available HERE at Delightfully Distressing Designs.  She has a few other wonderful new sets available at Can You Dig It store,  so do check those out as well.  HERE
The colours didn't print out exactly how they were on the screen (not pleased with my printer!) so the colours are more vibrant than you see below.  The sentiments on the first two are computer generated and the third sentiment and butterfly are from Teresa Collins - Sweet Afternoon.  (I popped up the butterfly for fun.)

So there are many other uses for this software, and I'm enjoying discovering new things!  If you'd like to be in the running for this software, just pop over HERE and play along. I'll draw a name on Wednesday the 21st.
Have a great day!
