An Attempt at a Dress

Hello again! :)  I just wanted to share with you a skirt I put together today.  I had a pair of capris that didn't fit right (I'm not the skinny jean type) and a lovely skirt that was too short.  I've seen this skirt idea on the web for awhile so I thought I'd try it.  I love the combination, although unfortunately it didn't turn out perfectly.  It's a bit bunched like in the last photo and hugs my legs a bit.  Too bad.
I like these fun things.  Just need to keep working on it to try to make it better.

Hope of Glory!

Do you have this hope of glory?  Salvation is full and free in Christ Jesus the Lord, all you have to do is repent of your sin and turn to him in faith.  Trusting him for salvation from your sin.  How amazing is his grace and how thankful I am that he has forgiven me, a gentile and made a place for me!

I pulled up this scripture and then went to my cubby and found a bunch of things laying around and they all came together nicely!  I must say that I do love that chicken wire embossing folder!

I would like to share this card with Word Art Wednesday!
I know you're all probably surprised at all the posts I've been making! LOL Lots of things have come together and I'm posting them now since I have family coming tomorrow for a visit! Yeah! I'm so excited since I haven't seen my family in SO long!

Hogs & Kisses

Thank you Faith for this wonderful image! I just love your Pigwits!
This is the wonderful Pumpkin Pigwit from From the Heart Stamps.  And I got it with the freebie of the month challenge that you could join in HERE!
I was lacking some inspiration so I thought I'd try out the I {heart} sketches challenge and loved it!
I used some new paper that I was given and then some ric rac from Michaels that I'd been saving.  I also coloured up the image with my spectrum noir markers and like how the pumpkins turned out. :) I also put the sentiment Hogs and Kisses on the inside.  Sorry no pic of that.

Thank you so much for dropping by! Have a beautiful day!

Anyone For Cake?

Do love cake? We do and it's fun to be able to dress it up for special occasions.  This is my husband's birthday cake from this week.  Too many candles would have been a danger (hehehe) so we put a lighthouse on it with a tea light inside.  Plus he loves lighthouses.  I made two different colours of blue icing and then the other colours were left over from my son's birthday.  It was a homemade orange cake and it's was so delicious! Next time though I'll add just a tad more orange juice than called for.
In my family, we love cake at any time and often just make cake for fun.  My husband found a cake decorating toolbox at a garage sale once and I just love it!  The kids have fun with it to. My grandmother was a cake decorator and even though I won't be amazing like her, I do love the art of it!  Plus it's edible! LOL
This is the card that I made for him as well.  It has a wonderful image from Shoregirl Creations and the writing is hard to read, but it's And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water.   And the inside is a scripture from Word Art by Karen.  My husband is an amazing godly man who leads our family in the Word of God every day!

Thanks for dropping by! Have a beautiful day and eat some cake! :)

Wrapped in Mommy's Love

Hello Friends! Today is a personal post that I'd like to share with you.  Yesterday was my son's 5th birthday and it's bittersweet.  He's my baby, and I miss those little stages, and yet God has blessed me with an incredible son!  One who is all boy, yet gentle and caring.

From those first few moments after birth till now he's capturing my heart.  Just like all of my children have.  I cannot understand how people can have favourites?  They are all so wonderful and each one as special as the other.

Joel helped me create his cake.  He had some construction machine candles so he wanted grass (his favourite colour) and lots of chocolate "dirt". :)  He also likes pink, so the candle didn't need to be altered! LOL

He received lots of gifts, and I made him a quilt to warm him on cold nights.  One that compliments his brothers who he shares the room with.  Something boy durable, yet snuggly! LOL

Such a blessing children are from the Lord! Each one precious.  Each one to be trained up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

"Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." -Proverbs 22:6

My Heart is Happy!

Some things make me happy.  Like flowers, and animals and From the Heart Stamps.  So here is a card that I have created with some of my favourite things.
I tried a new technique on this one that I've been eyeing on lots of other peoples' creations.  It's the multi-shaded dots for grass.  I'm quite pleased with how it turned out.
I forgot to take a picture of the inside sentiment but it says "My heart is so happy for you!!"  Another thing I love about From the Heart Stamps is the wonderful sentiments that accompany the images.
Life is full of beautiful things, and I am thankful that the Lord has blessed me with so may of them.  Whenever I feel down or discouraged, the Lord reminds me to count my blessings....how very many there are.  Then I find great smiles rise in my heart and I am happy once again!
