Crochet Binder

Hello! :)  This kinda goes along with the past post on crocheting.  I have this binder (an idea given me by a friend) that I store all my patterns that I use in.  It has sections for each of the kinds of things I make: wash clothes, doilies, blankets, booties, hats, and shawls.

So It looked kinda plain and has this plastic slip cover thing on it.  I thought it would be easy to make something and slip it in. Yup, I was right.  Very easy.  I cut some paper to fit and added another patterned paper overtop.  I added some lace, a doily ( I know a crochet one would have been better...hindsight.)  and some chipboard pieces that I had in my collection.

For the back I used some canvas paper as the base and then some matching paper overtop.  It looked too plain so I put some more lace in there.

For the sidebar I put a double layer of paper and when I find just the right letterings, I'll put CROCHET over the smaller tab.

Do you have a crochet binder? I love that I can go there and pull out those patterns that I have tried and work for me.  I use it like a recipe book. I write little notes on some of the patterns to say how they worked for me...or not.

Thank you for stopping in!  I hope and pray you have a wonderful day! Perhaps playing with some yarn.

What a great idea to have a "recipe book" for crochet patterns. I wish I had heard of that years ago! I could have had all my favorite crochet and counted cross stitch patterns in two books. I will have to try to remember this. :-) Actually, we are thinking of starting a book like that around ideas and things we will need in building a house since that is the next big project on our radar for the next few years - Lord willing, of course.

I like the way you spruced it up too. I'll have to remember that and look for a ring binder with pockets so that I can do that with our "house project" book. :-)
