Hi Everyone! Another couple creations that are not cards. My husband re-arranged our office space and I now have my own computer desk. Therefore, I found I needed a container for all my pens/pencils. I have been seeing lots of great uses for jars and thought this would be a fun one. My husband didn't like the idea of just a jar, so I dressed it up a bit. (That's the first one) Then, since I liked it so much I made a second one for my homeschool desk. I must say that my friend Karen from My Cup Runneth Over in many of the creations she makes has helped inspire what you now see. For the love of lace, ribbon, buttons and flowers.....here are my new "jars".
For the first one, I glued the lace right onto the band (that way I can switch it out for another. although I don't see myself doing it.....the possibility is there) and then tied the ribbons on and glued on the flowers and buttons (and a tad more ribbon). For this jar, I got it from I believe a garage sale. I loved the blue floral pattern it has. I glued on some lace (right to the jar since I don't have a band to fit.) and then wanting to do something different with the ribbons.....I started to play around with my sewing machine. I ended up stitching the two ribbons together and then just bunched them up along the glue line, leaving the ends to hang down. I added some crocheted flowers I'd made with a blue flower to the centres. Still looking like something was missing, I added three small folds in around the flowers.
I had so much fun making these, and there are endless possibilities. I'm thinking that these might make fun gifts? Would you put on on your desk?
Thanks for dropping by! Hope you're enjoying the weekend!

Awww these are so cute! I don't think I've ever seen a jar with the floral pattern on it like that. So pretty. These will liven up your special places. :-)
