Back to School

My girls are starting their fall lessons today and so I thought I'd make them a card to start off the year.  We homeschool, so I didn't use any traditional school stamps.  Then I thought I'd make a card also for my daughter's best friend. (she also starts on the same day.)  Hope you enjoy them.
The first card above is made using a stamp from DDH's everyday mice set.  She was so cute I thought it perfect to use. I coloured the stamp with prismacolor pencil crayons.  I used a decorative scissor to add shape to the corners and then paper pierced to add a lacy feel.  I added some cute flower ribbon from Modern@Home.

This cute mouse is also from DDH's everyday mice set.  I had fun incorporating orange into her card since that's her favorite colour.  I layered two ribbons together (from Portafolia) and the sweet pink paper flowers are from Forever in Time.

This card uses another stamp from DDH.  It's from their Hello Season's set.  I thought it was perfect for the "Best Friend" because she is so stylish!  I had fun trying out some new patterned papers that I just got from ATD Momenta.  I added some distressing and a bit of flower ribbon.

Plastic Leaf

This is my second post today. At Splitcoaststampers ways to use it Hannah has challenged us to use recycled something.  I chose to use some plastic wrapping to make a leaf.  I used the same leaf from DDH luscious leaves digi set as a template.  The sentiment I used is from DDH hello seasons set. I embossed the leaf designs, then painted them with moca brown acrylic paint.  When that was dry, I used some ink pads to add some brown and orange tints to the leaf.    I also added the little orange leaf brad just for fun.  It just proves you can use just about anything to create with!

Fall is in the Air

Fall is definitely in the air here in the Yukon as the air is crisp and the leafs are turning colours.  I have been wanting to use this digital stamp by DDH luscious leaves set.  I added some gold glitter via a stamp pad to the backing of the leaf.  So here is the card that I created around this beautiful leaf.

I just added some close ups so you could see a bit more of the details.

Goodbye Before Hello

It is with great disappointment that I must say goodby to the Digi Design Dream Team before I officially was to begin in September.  The company unexpectedly closed their doors and so that opportunity has closed as well.  I am very blessed to have some of their amazing stamp sets and will be sharing them with you as I add them to my cards that I make.  Their amazing invitation to join them has created a creative spark of interest in me to use digi stamps with my papercrafting.  Lots of inspiration that I will be sharing with you all in the days to come.  Here are three cards that I had created just for the them and here they are to say goodby.

Some more of my cards.

Hello again everyone!  Here are three more of the cards that I've done.  I haven't been in the practice of taking pictures of the cards that I've made, so these are the only ones that got caught on camera.  I love trying new things and am excited by all the inspiration that I find from other designers!

My First Post

Hello Everyone, and welcome to my very first blog.  I want to dedicate this first blog entry to my husband (whose card this was for his birthday) since he is with me through everything, thick and thin! To my wonderful children who think this is all great and to the Lord Jesus who has given me the ability to craft in the first place!
Thank you so much Hannah for all the help you've given me to get this started! You're truly delightful!
