Something New and Wonderful

Today I have something new and wonderful to share with you.  Awhile back my friend Sandy from Scribbles by Sandy sent me this incredible kit to make a scrapbook out of envelopes, and tons of great things to decorate it with!  I have added some of my own, but she gave me loads to work with!
So, this is what I've come up with.  It's still going to be filled with pictures of my family and little journaling to cheer my Mother-in-Law who lives far away.  It is a scrapbook with six "pages" with five folders each.  They are sandwiched in between the covers and looped together with those shiny silver "thingies".  Well, now for a look inside.  There are a lot of pictures, I hope you enjoy!

These are the front and back covers.  I used a stamp from Inkadinkado to fill in some of the empty space.  The ribbon tied off in a bow holding the tag with a stamp she sent with the set. (I'll show that later.) I added the edging because I somehow measured incorrectly and the pages were showing.  There was extra paper so I taped it together and punched sections for both covers.

Here is the inside cover with alternating papers.

This is a frontal pic of all the "pages".  There is one for each of my family.

These are for my girls.  I used a block letter stamp set to create their names and yes, I smudged the edges on purpose!  It's hard to see in this picture, but there are some butterflies and "stamps" stamped in gold on the green papers. For the flowers I just rolled up the petals and layered them.  Finishing them off with a rhinestone.  Plus a few buttons.

These are for my boys.  I made tags for them instead of flowers and inked feet on one and a hand on the other.  I love little feet and hands!!!  I also added  a flourish to them, that you will see on other pages.
Here are the pages for my love and I.  I love the wonderful ribbon she sent with the kit and there was lots of it!  I wanted all the tags to have ribbons and as you can see, I alternated the different ones.

Here is a sample of what the backs look like.  Each of them is similar, with various tags.  I stamped some of the tags with the same flourish I used on the cover.

Here is a side view of the book altogether.  See those ribbons sticking out the side?  There are even more wonderful pockets with tags tucked into them.

Now here is a closer look of the tag on the front cover.  If you still have a hard time seeing it, just click on the picture to enlarge it.  It says I've been thinking of you today.  Since I think of  my sweet mother-in-law very often. Yes you read it right.  She and I get along just marvellously, so much so I think my husband is wondering if she likes me better than him! LOL I hope this will help her enjoy memories of the family across the distance.
Well, if you're still with me after all this. I thank you! It has taken me a long time to get this far and I've enjoyed it all!  I'm so glad to be able to share this with you!
I thank you all my wonderful followers who leave me comments and who just pop in to see what I've been up to! You are greatly appreciated and I think of you often to!
God Bless!

Get Well Birdie

Do you know anyone feeling down today? Thankfully my family is healthy again.  So I'll be saving this for another occasion.  I have created this card with an image and sentiment from Designed 2 Delight. Found HERE  I've coloured with my pencil crayons and layered it over some papers from Clear Dollar Stamps and DCWV.  With a touch of gauze and pearls.  Simple yet I pray that it'll cheer up someone sometime.

Never Give Up!

Hello! I've been over to the Word Art Wednesday blog this week and they have another fantastic word art up.  So many times in life things get a bit rough and it's easy to give up.  I thank the Lord Jesus that he is always there for me, supporting me and strengthening me for whatever I'm going through.  This quote is encouraging for me simply because it reminds me of the Lord Jesus.  He, even in my worst times never gives up on me.  For my card I've layered some different swatches from my scrap pile.  Some lace and a wonderful flower image from Scribbles by Sandy.  Even in life's most difficult situations, there is something alive and special that we can be thankful for.

Today begins another wonderful challenge over at the Card Crafter's Circle and it's CAS cards (Clean And Simple).   For my card I've used an image from one of our fantastic sponsors Oak Pond Creations called Bog Frog and coloured it up with my pencil crayons.  ( I used a marker for the little flowers under the frog though.  This I layered over some green and beige cardstock.  Then I added a fantastic sentiment from Clear Dollar Stamps and a flourish from Heidi Grace.

We have a double sponsor again this week, and that means more prizes! Our two sponsors are Oak Pond and Robyn's Fetish Designs.  Do pop over to the Card Crafter's Circle blog to check out all the details! Plus you won't want to miss out on all the fabulous inspiration from my team mates!

I know He watches Me.

Hello! So glad to see you today! I have something new to share with you.  It's a card that I've made for the Word Art Wednesday challenge.  It's just on the line, even though I've been planning it all week.  They have wonderful free word art with their challenges you can use and this is what I've used this time.  I've also used this wonderful image of sparrows that I found free online months ago.  If anyone knows who it's from I would love to know so I can give them credit.  This I layered over some lovely blue inked, and brown cardstock.  The template for under the birds is from Lily of the Valley.  The music paper is from My Grafico by Lindsay's Stamp Stuff.  I inked it a bit and then added a touch of distressing.  Then for a final touch I added the bronze pearls.
I love this word art because it reminds me that even as insignificant as I may seem when looking at the world, He knows me and cares about me.  How precious it is to me to wake every morning and know that My Lord Jesus has given me another day.  That by His grace He has saved me and given me eternal life as well.  May my footsteps follow Him throughout today and every day!
If you don't know the Lord Jesus as your Saviour.  Know that you are seen.  That you are precious and important to Him.

Thinking of You!

I have been thinking of all my wonderful followers and I thank the Lord each day for being to share with you the things I enjoy creating! God Bless!
Are you ready for another wonderful sketch from Seems A Little Sketchy?  Today we have another great sketch for you to use:  Remember you can flip it, turn it whatever as long as we can see the sketch in your creation!

For my creation, I used a wonderful image called Barefoot Amy from one one of our great sponsors Crafty Sentiments Designs.  I coloured her with my pencil crayons and added a log for her to sit on in her meadow.  The papers are from Momenta and the lacy felt border is from Forever in Time.  I've lightly inked the edges of the papers and added the sentiment from Inkadinkado.  For a finishing touch I added the butterflies (EK Success punch) inked and centered with a rhinestone each.  Then It still felt like something was missing so I added rhinestones to the felt flowers and ladybug.

We would love for you to share with is your take on this sketch.  Do come join us at Seems A Little Sketchy! The challenge runs for two weeks so you've lots of time to play with it!

This wonderful bouquet is coloured with pencil crayons and layered on some rich purple papers from Memory Makers. The ribbon and rhinestones are from my stash and the inking for the sentiment is done with yellow and brown inks.

I just love this pickup card! So very fun! The image is called Birthday Pickup and can be found HERE. The sentiment is also from Chick Sentiments found HERE.  I have again coloured with my pencil crayons, layered with some fun paper from my stash and added the misc ribbons for extra fun!  As an added touch to compliment the ribbons and paper I've added some faux stitching to the panels.

This wonderful chick just needed to be outside in a bright sunny meadow with some flowers.  I've coloured up this wonderful chick called Birdbrain Balloon and it can be found HERE.  The sentiment is also from Chick Sentiments and is HERE.  I've added some fun yellow stitched ribbon from SoFacile and a misc clip from my stash with just a touch of distressing and the "grass" is created by a deckle decorative scissor.

HUGS, HUGS, HUGS!!! is all children when they're sick want.  Today it's all about children at Card Crafter's Circle this week!  I have chosen a sweet image by Dearie Dolls called Lil' Nurse and paired it with a sentiment form Create with TLC.   I cut out the image with my Spellbinders scalloped oval die for some added shape.  The paper is from my collection and I used a swatch of gauze from my medicine cabinet.  Then four rhinestones for the corners.  Nice and simple.  I find that children like to take things apart so there isn't much to fiddle with here. Plus if it will fit in an envelope nicely if it's to be mailed out.

Wordless Book

Have you ever heard of the wordless book?  As a child it was just that, a book without words arranged with certain colours and my parents would sing a song as they turned the pages. (Black, Red, White, Gold, Green)
"My heart was black with sin, until the Saviour came in.
His precious blood I know, has washed me white as snow.
And in God's Word I'm told, I'll walk the streets of gold.
To grow in Jesus each day, I'll read my Bible and pray."

I don't know who created this book or the song, but it's a favourite of mine and my children to.
As I was thinking of all the wonderful scripture I could use with this,  I was compelled to use this verse in John, because to me it's the gospel in a nutshell so to speak.  I have used this wonderful word art of this verse shared by Karen at Papercraft Memories.  I have been blessed to get to know Karen through her blog and learn what touches her heart as she creates each piece of scripture word art! I encourage you to pop over to see her HERE.
If you noticed on the card, there is one other colour that I've added. YELLOW.  There is another song that my family used to sing when I was young and that was the crayon song.  My children love it to.  Yet again, I don't know the author, but it's a song that both comforts and challenges me.  It goes like this.

"When I was just a little child, no higher than my knee.
My Mother bought a box of crayons, just for me.
Well I picked it up and opened it up and looked way down inside.
And the colours they reminded me of Jesus when he died.

Red is the colour of the blood that he shed.
Brown is the crown that they laid upon his head.
Blue is for royalty that in him did it dwell.
And yellow is for the christian who's afraid to tell.

Well I coloured and I coloured till the crayons were all gone
And though I am much older now, the colours linger on.

Red is the colour of the blood that he shed.
Brown is the crown that they laid upon his head.
Blue is for royalty that in him did it dwell.
And yellow is for the christian who's afraid to tell."

"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth: to the Jew first and also to the Greek." -Romans 1:16
This is my prayer.  That this may be said of me.
I am also sharing this over at Word Art Wednesday.  A wonderful place to share scripture and encouragement!

Love the Lord thy God!

Hello! Just a quick post to share this card I've made today.  I absolutely love joining with Word Art Wednesday and they always have great word art to share!  I've been looking through some fun scrapbooking  magazines a friend brought me and I kept seeing these distressed panels so I took it as a sign! hehehe  I used some scraps of DP from ATD Momenta and combined it with some fun pink buttons and light pink ric rac from my collection.
When we are focused on the Lord it's not possible to be focused on ourselves!

Godly Men

Today I just have something to share with you.  This past couple of weeks the Lord has blessed our town and family with some incredible Gospel meetings and children's meetings.  Two gentlemen from a Gospel Hall in Manitoba came to town and their ministry and teaching has been such an encouragement to my family and I.  The children's meetings not only taught more gospel truths to my children (two of which by God's grace are saved already) and also encouraged them to share their faith with others.
The one gentleman who came Pete Smith works with a program called Postal Bible Studies.  It's a wonderful program of Bible teaching that comes each month in the mail and the only cost to you is the return stamp (they provide the envelope).  They also gave some meetings back in April and my children and I have been enjoying the lessons we've been receiving.  I encourage you to check them out at Postal Bible Studies.
As a thank you I made a card for each of them from our family and then forgot to take a picture of them so I've made a couple more similar to them.  The ones I'm sharing with you today.
Praise God for the proclamation of His Word and the faithful service of those who stand unmoved in the great truth of the Gospel.
"For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:" -1 Corinthians 15: 3-4
"...Sirs, what must I do to be saved?  And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved...." -Acts 16:31
Are you ready to meet the Lord God of Heaven?  If not I encourage you to read the Bible.  The Book of John in the New Testament is a good place to start, it's all about meeting Jesus.

I'd also like to put a special mention in that these incredible tree images are actually freebies over at Shoregirl's Creations.  They are a some of the many incredible freebies that she so generously shares!

Summer Colour

Hello everyone! It's summertime here in the Yukon, although we have been feeling underwater ourselves with all the rain we've been receiving.  I just love summer for all the wonderful colour that erupts after months of snow!  I do love snow, but I just adore colour!
We have a wonderful new challenge beginning over at Card Crafter's Circle and we'd love to have you join us to celebrate summer holidays!  This week we are being sponsored by the incredible Bugaboo Stamps and they have a wonderful prize of 7 digis for the random winner! Yippee!
For my card I've used this fantastic scuba diving frog, coloured with prismas and set inside this porthole.  I used my Creative Memories circle cutters for this and added some mini square brads that I inked just a bit to add a slightly tarnished look.  I popped this over some seaweed ( or at least that's what I was thinking when I added this swatch of mesh from my already enjoyed avacados.)  The brown ribbon is for the sand and then the wire of colourful fish are beads that I snagged from my girls collection.  To finish it off, this sentiment from I believe TLC just fits perfectly.
I pray you are all enjoying some summer fun in the northern hemisphere.  For those of you in the southern hemisphere when you have summer I'll be dreaming of your warmth.  May you have some time to come and join us at Card Crafter's Circle for yet another fun challenge!
