Hello!
Trying my hand at some felt food for my sweet niece.
I cut out the felt pieces for a few things
and then started sewing.
I am using some heavier embroidery thread and
then some polyester fill for the stuffing.
I was so happy that I was able to find so many
colourful pieces of felt at the Dollar Store.
I have more to make...but this is the beginning.
My one son is helping with the sewing and is doing really well.
It's a good skill for everyone to have and a
fun part of homeschooling.
One other fun skill that I'm passing on to my oldest is hair cutting.
My son was super nervous about it but Danielle did
a wonderful job on his hair, and on his brother's to.
I don't use razors except to trim up the neck at the end.
So it's learning how to use just a pair of scissors and a comb.
A skill that helps our families in a frugal way.
My oldest daughter has graduated...
but really no one ever really graduates...
but we all keep learning.

The weather has been up and down here...
but at the moment it's cold and clear.
The sun is shining gloriously and there are lovely ice crystals
shimmering in the air.

I think the felt you food is a great idea! I hope your niece likes it.
Good for Danielle learning how to cut hair with scissors! I think men look better with a scissor cut style. But, clippers are easier so my man and boys get clipper do's.
Last week I did some sewing on stuffed animal whales, reading, and writing some upcoming blog posts.
Aw, that's so nice you are able to make the felt food for your niece. It reminds me of a felt tea party set pattern that my sister had sent to me once...I never got around to making it though. Maybe I should look it up again. :)
It is cold here as well...I have been working on designing some embroidery patterns that I hope to list for sale in ny Etsy shop soon. It's a lot of work, but hopefully will be worth it and others will enjoy them! :)
The felt food brought back a few happy memories of making food for my own children and grandchildren, such fun.

I have always enjoyed making things with felt, I gave made mostly birds. I think it is great to learn to cut and trim hair! Always enjoy seeing what you are up to! Hugs, Roxy
Jennifer how ADORABLE!!! LOVE the little fish especially! It reminded me of a pizza parlor set I made for my kids out of felt! I got free personal size pizza boxes from Pizza Hut and then got plastic utensils from the dollar store. I made little chef's hats and mits and cut all of the 'pizza' fixin's from felt. I think I just made cardboard circles for the dough?? Great memories!
The felt food is an adorable idea! I just love it! What a great craft for the family to participate in, and learn new skills too. And how wonderful that you are passing your barber skills on to your daughter! She did a great job! May the Lord bless you sweet friend!
