Twill You Crochet With Me?

Hello!  Do you love to crochet? Do you love twill yarn?  I was given some of the lighter twill yarn, and thought it would make a lovely blanket with some darker brown twill.

I started with the yarn in the above picture and then needed a couple more of the dark brown as I went along.

The fun part of this blanket is that the yarn names are chocolate chip and oatmeal.  Makes it sound yummy doesn't it?

I went looking through the many patterns that are out there, and I settled on doing a granny ripple stitch.  It's so easy and here is the free pattern: Country Fair Chevron Crochet Pattern

The blanket ended up being about 5 foot by 5 foot.
It is now on my son's bed and he loves it!

Now my other son has asked for a blanket just like this but all in camouflage.  So when we were at the store this week, (and yes I always look at the yarn) he pulled out the last five balls they had and plopped them in the cart.  Then said...please?  I couldn't say no.

I am delighted that they enjoy and desire to have homemade things.

Thank you for dropping by! Praying you have a wonderful day!

I love to crochet . . . I'm just not very good at it! Your blanket is so pretty - I love the contrast in the browns and white. When I was a little girl, my mom's neighbor, Agnes (we called her Aggie) taught me to crochet. In fact, 33 years later, I STILL have a cream colored afghan she crocheted for a wedding gift. I wish I knew what kind of yarn she used because I'll tell you, it hasn't 'pilled' or stretched and it is the WARMEST blanket I've ever had!

I'm amazed that you can whip up a crochet blanket so quickly! It takes me weeks and weeks to knit a blanket. Love the ripple granny pattern ... I've not seen this take on the granny square before. Great effect! That's so sweet that your other son requested a handmade blanket from Mom ;) melts your heart, right?

I think that's the highest compliment your son could pay you is to ask you to make him a blanket and pick out his colors too! I love the colors of the brown blanket it is beautiful. I do not know how to crochet but I love to admire the work people do with their talent!

This is SO pretty!!! I have never heard of twill yarn- I'll have to look for it at the craft store.

I used to crochet often, but have been out of the fun habit! I had started washcloths a few years ago. Hmmm guess I'll be pulling that out tonight before bed!! Thank you for the reminder!!

And thank you for visiting my blog!!

Happy Homemaking!!!
