Anyone For Cake?

Do love cake? We do and it's fun to be able to dress it up for special occasions.  This is my husband's birthday cake from this week.  Too many candles would have been a danger (hehehe) so we put a lighthouse on it with a tea light inside.  Plus he loves lighthouses.  I made two different colours of blue icing and then the other colours were left over from my son's birthday.  It was a homemade orange cake and it's was so delicious! Next time though I'll add just a tad more orange juice than called for.
In my family, we love cake at any time and often just make cake for fun.  My husband found a cake decorating toolbox at a garage sale once and I just love it!  The kids have fun with it to. My grandmother was a cake decorator and even though I won't be amazing like her, I do love the art of it!  Plus it's edible! LOL
This is the card that I made for him as well.  It has a wonderful image from Shoregirl Creations and the writing is hard to read, but it's And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water.   And the inside is a scripture from Word Art by Karen.  My husband is an amazing godly man who leads our family in the Word of God every day!
Sharing this card with Word Art Wednesday.

Thanks for dropping by! Have a beautiful day and eat some cake! :)

Homemade birthday cakes are EXTRA special (in my opinion) and yours turned out great! Love the use of the lighthouse on top -- very cute and creative! (Love the card too -- thanks for the link back!)

Hi, Jen!
While I love your card (I always do), I am finding myself really wanting a piece of that cake! I am such a frosting person, it's ridiculous. That cake looks like it had plenty of yummy frosting! I hope he had a super birthday, and I'm so grateful for him because he makes you (my friend) so happy.
Blessings,
Karen

So creative. I would love to be able to do cake decorating, but I don't have the knack for it. I bet he was thrilled with this. I'm like you, it's ALWAYS time for cake. LOL Hugs!

That tree card was awesome!. I loved it. So much natural fibers. I feel terrible that I haven't played in Word Art Wednesday for so long. The cake? Fab. I want to grab a spoon and eat the frosting!
