Hello!
Want to come over for a something sweet?
I was so happy too be able to stand in the kitchen and make some
cinnamon buns.
I don't use a special recipe...I just use my bread recipe and add some sugar to it.
Then I love to add butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, a touch of nutmeg...
and some thawed diced apples from last fall to the middle.
Of course there needs to be some glaze to...I like vanilla in mine...
my husband loves some orange extract in his.
My daughter made some blueberry buckle this past week as well.
So good!
We had some really high winds a couple days ago and in the middle of the night...
it blew our greenhouse off.
Thankfully it didn't damage the trucks or anything else...
even the willows the base landed on are not too bad for wear.
My girls and husband pulled the base down and flattened it so
to keep it from blowing away further.
We collected and secured what was blowing away and then retreated from the
bitting snow (like being sandblasted).
So what will become of the greenhouse...that has yet to be decided.
It doesn't look too damaged, but not sure how to go about it yet.
With the winds still fairly hight the next day we thought...
we'd leave the major clean up for when the wind died down.
Big mistake....woke to a huge amount of snow this morning and it's still coming down.
Cleaning up the greenhouse things will be like an
archeological excavation. hehehe
Perhaps a homeschool project?
I also found this great new bag of diatomaceous earth at the free store!!!
It is great for detoxing, & for pest control in my plants.
If you've never heard of this...check it out.
I take mine in a gelatine capsule with a big glass of water.
Or smoothies, or applesauce is good.
It kills the bad bugs in your gut and removes toxins from
your intenstines.
This is a big bag...it's going to last a LONG time.
Thanks for dropping by!
I hope you have a wonderful day!
Love and Prayers,
Jennifer
Sad about the greenhouse!
ReplyDeleteThat diatomaceous earth, though! What a great find!
What a shame about the greenhouse, that is going to take some clearing up.
ReplyDeleteSorry about your greenhouse! You might need to wait until spring to set it up again, I guess.
ReplyDeleteLove the cinnamon buns and blueberry buckle!
Yes, we use diatomaceous earth! We used to ingest it for health, but now we use other supplements and use the DE for ant control around the perimeter of our house.
That's too bad about your greenhouse - my family used to live in Kansas where we would get very strong winds. I am sure if we had had a greenhouse, something similar would have happened to it. :) We always had to go gather up anything loose in the yard when a storm was coming, or it would be blown away across the fields and likely never seen again! We once rescued a hunter's tent that had blown a long way (though he had secured it down)...and thankfully were able to return it to the man. :)
ReplyDeleteI have often wished I could use diatomaceous earth for pest control also! However, we keep honey bees...so we can't risk killing them in the process of trying to eliminate the bad insects.
Those cinnamon buns look so so delicious! Makes me want to bake something! I'm so sorry about your greenhouse! I hope the cleanup goes smoothly for you. Definitely a good homeschool project. ;)
ReplyDeleteOh goodness Jennifer, I'm so sorry about your greenhouse! I know what you mean about the snow just covering everything. Maybe a tarp over it all for now... I love Diatomaceous earth too. I use it mostly in my chicken coop to kill the bugs there. I'm glad that you are feeling better, and able to get around better! The rolls looked so good, and I like your idea of just using your bread recipe, and adding the cinnamon and sugar! Blessings to you :)
